I made my first tiny mod, and it's a mod of your mod! I just got some Waterhouse images from Wikipedia Commons, cropped and resized them as dds (1K), and then compressed them with Ordenador (adding mipmaps). I put them in a folder structure so they would overwrite the images in your mod, and I must say it looks fabulous in my game. So proud.

I like this idea of replacing the dome, but think there is room for improvement with regards to the images chosen, since they are just screen shots. I would prefer actual paintings (old masters, modern heroic fantasy, pre-raphaelite ...). If I get time and motivation I might have a crack at it. One needs to find higher resolution images, preferably ones with a squarer aspect ratio, then crop or scale.
Totally agree. I would still be quite picky about what I'd want in the Solitude dome. I feel it would look out of place if it had aesthetics of Italian Baroque or Middle-Eastern styles. It would have to have a Nordic/sea-faring theme with a cold colour palette (with it being the Blue Palace). Even if it was marble textured it would look better than vanilla. Maybe Witcher 3 has some interesting assets that could be used -- something from Skellige perhaps? Incidentally, I spoke to Renthal311 about this idea some months back. Hopefully we'll see some alternative dome from him in the future.
