    Sticky
Hi all, I hope those of you trying the landscaped versions of Lakehome enjoy them and come back to endorse, thanks. Lots of water lilies and reeds around the lake surrounding the home and a few other additions such as many more fish, especially fun if you are using Art of the catch. Check out the images and if you are concerned about frame hits, we tested this on two different PCs and found no impact at all around the Hobbit Home Island.
    Enjoy.
From now on I will post changes and bug fixes in this sticky.

    CHANGELOG:

    2.9.1
Adjusted the lighting in the Armory so displayed weapons and armor are much better lit now while maintaining a cozy lighting.
All Mannequins were remade from scratch and should behave properly now.
IMPORTANT! Before you update remove ALL YOUR GEAR from the old mannequins!
Many thanks to my good friend Refurbmadness who made these changes and has collaborated on this mod from early on.

    Future plans:
Working on an Child adoption friendly version now.

Being a complete Tolkien nut I loved this mod. Much better than pretty much any of the other Hobbit homes on Nexus. The only issues for me is that I would like a second bedroom and that it be children friendly since I usually adopt two kids from Heathfire. The other is placement. I rarely spend much time down in Riften. I'd like it better near Riverwood or Whiterun. But that just me. As it is I do run a mod that let;s me play a Tolkien dwarf and This is great as a second solo home. I wish I had the time to learn to do mods of my own. I have several home floor plans from a simple cave or cabin on up to a small castle. But great job on this!

Hi thank you for the nice comments and yes Tolkien is my Hero as well ;) I have actually been working on a children friendly version of this mod as I have gotten more into the whole adoption set up. I just have to get my ass into gear and finish it, been sitting on it for awhile.
Not much I can do about location and there is already a second bedroom that is intended for followers or in future children.
I also have a Hobbit style home by lake Ilinalta that is my personal favorite, its called "Cozy Lakeside Cabin" Its much smaller but I am thinking of making it also child friendly for a single parent with one child. I hope I can get both done in the near future.
      Cheers

Love this, I've tweaked it a fair bit and got it just perfect. I did notice though that the interior lighting seemed a bit flat. I had a look under the hood and noticed that the from Lighting Template did not have the Ambient flag ticked. I set it in Tes5 and it transformed the interior, to look much much more atmospheric and just like your earlier screenshots.

I've also added a few new features like swinging lanterns, scripted lighting, landscape edits, navmesh optimization etc. If your OK, I would like to upload it on my pages here on Nexus. It would be Nexus Exclusive and you would be fully credited.

We'd prefer you didn't. There is an update we are meaning to get around to but haven't for several reasons, so we can tick the ambient box (that's my bad). Being that everything else is largely subjective, and this is your thing that you did for yourself, we'd prefer to keep ours the way it is and other people can futz with it as they see fit themselves.

      Thank you, though, for asking.

No worries. You should deffo look at Sialivis mod (Blowing In The Wind), he has morrowind lanterns (and others) that look gorgeous. You can use his stuff with credits. I used ETaC round lanterns in the byre, Morrowind lanterns at the back door and Round glass lanterns at the front door, all animated. I also added jump Nav between the dirt cliff edge and the water, re-landscaped the roof for better blending with the architecture. Let me know if you want the file and I will PM it to you.

Hey i'm back I know i said i don't check on mods very often so the fact i came back should tell you I LOVE this mod.
I love the update you're the best!
I had a few more ideas if your willing to hear them if not don't read after the question i have.
I won't be upset the mods perfect already in my opinion I just like to help and I'm worried I am annoying you at this point.

Ok so my question is: Do the plants grow back? I kinda got greedy and harvested everything and now its all bleh so i was just curious if that's a thing or not.

Okay I want to stress this: I know absolutely nothing about modding so I don't even know if these are possible but just in case they are...

Since the armory needs its own separate cell why not make the armory bigger? Like keep the top floor and add a basement or have it lead to a lowered floor via stairs? throw some display cases in there. I mean if its on its own anyways why not make the loading screen worth it right? I think just streching the armory would break the "immersion" of living in a mound of dirt simply because stretching the armory might make the room bigger than the mound "should allow" ya know?

Another idea is I've seen mods with elder scroll displays. ever considered it? My character just did Dawnguard so hes got 3 elder scrolls and nowhere to put them
Again can't stress enough, no idea about modding if that's impossible or a lot of work now that its finished hey no complaint here.

again just some spitballs there do what you want with them i think this mod is perfect no matter what; this is pretty much gonna be my house mod forever now. I actually am gonna go look at your other mods now and I promise I'll leave the posts sections alone!

Hey Steve, I'm glad you're liking the mod so much, and I'm glad it seems the update fixed your ills The planters are your standard Hearthfire setup, so you should see them regrow every couple of days. Three to five, I think?

As for the armory and all, after this upcoming update with adoption we're calling this mod more or less finished, at least in terms of major additions. Kursan has a mod, though, Tel Ascadia, which is larger and has a much larger armory. No special displays there as of right now, but it's worth a look, maybe!

I don't mean the planters i mean like the flora around the house and the moss in the alchemy room
Ill also check out that other mod thanks!

Oh! Yes the plants outside all respawn, sorry. Should be when the cell resets, though apparently there's a bug with this as I just read? I guess in 1.3 Bethesda broke it and the game doesn't remember what plants have respawned and which ones haven't. Having read that I think I have actually noticed that, the fact that no plants outside that I've harvested respawn, ever, no matter how long I've been away from the cell. Anyway here's a mod that purports to fix it that came up when I searched to confirm respawn times. If you feel it's necessary!
  6. Hello, it's me again! I wanted to let you know that there is a conflict between Immersive Horses and your mod. When I mount the horse from here or from Lakeview Manor, the other comes running and the game treats them as the same animal. It should be easily fixed by giving your horse a unique EditorID but unfortunately my CK won't let me open Dragonborn so I can check if I'm right. Thank you so much for reading and your lovely mods!

EDIT: I can PM you next time if you like, though I doubt I'm liable to find another issue, this mod is far better than anything I've managed thus far!

If it's giving you an error to do with strings (I think?) I guess make sure that you've got Dragonborn.bsa listed in your SkyrimEditor.ini under:

      [Archive]
      SResourceArchiveList2=...

You probably already know this, so don't think I'm being condescending or whatever, I just know I do weird things like that all the time and wonder what the hell.

Anyway, thanks for the info; Kursan and I are working on a big update, so I'll be sure to take care of that. If you do happen to confirm your suspicions, I'd surely appreciate your input since I've never used IH. Though thinking about it I have suspicions of my own. Cool. Thanks again for letting us know
    2. I did get Dragonborn to open, but I have not yet managed to fix the IH problem. All I did was give myself triplets instead! (Tried to make a very ineffective patch. I'm almost proud of it.)

You aren't being condescending, I googled it and realized that was exactly what I had done thank you! I do love IH and it's a permanent part of my loadorder. I haven't yet tried to make a horse of my own. I do still think it's the editorID; if you look on their page they suggest using the EnchHorse-whatever NPC as a base. Thank you so much for your prompt reply! I'll keep poking at it and see what I can manage.

Just curious have you looked at "Convenient Horses" to compare? Because it works fine with my mod.
    4. Thus far, the easiest solution I have found is to just use the EncHorseSaddledPalamino from the Actor menu rather than the BYOHPlayerHorseSaddledPalominoNoRespawn, which is a unique horse. If you want a specially named horse that takes a lot more work, but I think this would best serve your goal.

Edit: I mean, IH turns the BYOHPlayerHorseSaddled into unique actors. As usual, in my rush to post I am not quite as clear as I mean.

Yeah, that's what I'd suspected was the problem; when you mentioned Lakeside a little light bulb went off. The horse had already been placed by the time I sauntered into the picture, and as neither Kursan nor I use IH it just never came up. But knowing that is the cause I can fix that in two shakes, no problem.

So yeah, I'm going to consult with Kursan about this and a few things and the update will be out very soon Thanks again for the report, and I am so very sorry for the inconvenience!
    6. Mostly it surprised me, and I'm glad it proved to have such a simple solution. Thank you so much for your patience and respect!

So i'm having an issue with the mannequins in the armory i also have a suggestion idk if its possible or not

the issue: for some reason and completely random the mannequins would break and not let me put any armor on it and would then duplicate the armor when i leave the menu.

suggestion: i'm sure there's a valid reason the armory is its own area but its quite annoying. connect the rest of the house with it? also some more lighting on the weapon racks in the back would be cool ( i have a lighting mod and the weapons racks are invisible i actually didn't notice them until weeks after i've moved into it)

i don't check for responses on my nexus posts btw this issue isn't enough to make me find a new home i love this mod but if there's a fix to these i would love you forever if not ill just assume its not possible or this mod isn't supported anymore.
thanks in advance if theres change if not the mod is still the best house mod out there.

      Hi Steve,

Thank you for the high praise first of all, I am still humbled by how many players regard this home as one of the best or even their favorite among all the many housemods out there.
While I do regard the mod as complete, I definitely try to trouble shoot where I can and maybe even update at some point. I am still considering making the home adoption friendly for instance, just have not found the time for it yet.
First about the lighting, I was thinking of enhancing it a bit at some point to be brighter, but I could not say how your particular lighting mod will affect that, but yes I will make it brighter.
About the mannequins, I used a resource and since found out that there are issues with it, since they are all duplicates of another.
I plan to remake the mannequins from scratch each individually; however, when you update to such a version you would have to remove all your gear from the current version you use.
Finally, yes I would have preferred a walk in armory, but the way the house is constructed I was concerned about frame rate drop and mannequins appearing all over the place which they tend to do in large homes; a separate cell was the easiest way around all that and I don't think I will change that design.

We'll see if something can be done by next weekend, stay tuned.

Just posted the updated version please try it out. Lighting in the Armory was improved and all Mannequins were remade from scratch; remember to REMOVE ALL YOUR GEAR from the old mannequins before you update.
      Hope you like it.

Oh man is this well done indeed. I am still exploring and finding little details everywhere. The place really comes alive with all the insects buzzing about. I especially like the lily pads out on the water, about the only thing missing there are the sounds of frogs. Thanks for sharing the place, I can tell a lot of time and love went into making it.

Sadly no, follower companions only can make a home there. I meant to make an child adoption friendly version but never got around to it.
      Sorry
