@Bordraw: Apparently I was looking in ALL the wrong places for help. Thank you! I reviewed this and it was much more helpful than the stuff I found on my own.

I had tried asking the Nexus community but got nothing. Now you guys are coming out with all this help! Thank you SO much!

I ran into similar problems, getting a blender model into a working .nif is a pain in the ass, the trick is to not use Blender's .nif export plugins, they are broken and old as hell. Instead, export to .3ds, nifskope can import those directly into an existing .nif so you can base your weapon file off of the working ones that came with Skyrim.

I used these steps to get a new weapon into skyrim:

and this for a problem I had with normal maps, you may find it useful:

@kensmalice: I gave it a quick review this morning (Not awake enough to retain that knowledge lol) and it looks like that will help thank you! Still gonna take a good break and just play Skyrim for awhile. Instead of modding it. lol

@Fierymarigold: Thank you and thank you. Maybe someone will pick up where I left off. I'm too busy/frustrated to continue at this time. lol

@SquirrelM0ds: Yeah I'm learning but I need a long break. lol
Yeah this isn't the cleanest mesh but I'm gonna be refining it more when I get time.

    Thank you all!

You might be interested in these tutorials: http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/tutorials/category/40-3d-craftworks/ Tess Alliance is an excellent place to get help too if you have questions.

Sword looks great, I hope you or someone gets it into the game.

I'm in the same boat as you. I can use Blender pretty well (I think), but NifSkope is where all the problems hit me. I modelled some armor in Blender 2.62 and then exported it as a nif through 2.49b (since 2.49 seems to be the only one that can export .nifs), but when I opened it in NifSkope, none of the settings matched the tutorials I was using. I was completely lost, and since I really had no idea how to use Nifskope without an explicit step-by-step guide, I kinda just gave up from there.

Anyway, I saw that you were using Blender 2.72. From what I've read, you have to export the .blend file as a .nif for any hopes of getting Into Skyrim. However, the only version of Blender that can export a .nif is 2.49, which you would need to install Blender Nifscripts for. As for NifSkope, I don't have a clue.

Also, regarding your mesh, I think you would be better off using less polygons for performance reasons, particularly around the pommel and knuckleguard. I opened it up and basically deleted every other edge there. The pommel ended up looking only slightly more blocky (not really noticeable), and the knuckleguard looked completely smooth. If you don't know how, just Alt+click the edge, press X, and click edge loop.

Good luck to you, and I hope this helped a little. Maybe someone more experienced could help us both.

PS: If you're interested in the tutorial I was using to make armor, here it is:

EDIT: Don't listen to what I said about 2.49 and Nifscripts. Instead, look at kensmalice's post. He linked what seems to be a very useful video.
