Can you change, or how do I go about changing, the price for other dialogue stuff? I'm thinking mercenaries here, those should be damn valuable.

That is odd, it works for me :/
I hate not being of much help, but I'm not a very advanced modder, so I'm not sure what the problem could be, sorry

It works, but only for a new game. For existing games, the global variables have already been loaded and can't be changed with a mod. You can change them with the console, though (Ex: "set hpwhiterun to 50000" ). The only way I know of that might work to mod it for an existing game would be to mod the quests to use new global variables that you set up rather than the standard ones.

theecatt is right, I used this in my previous playthrough but installed it too late. So whenever I bought a horse or a house, I just did the math and tossed away some gold.
A very creative "fix", I know
