Essential mod, unfortunately it doesn't work; so we're stuck with archers being able to shoot you point blank while you're smashing them with your sword.

Does not work for me, only 3 posts and none mention it working, yet 22 endorsements out of 248 downloads. Most mods get less than 10% endorsement to downloads and more that 10% posts. Very odd.

I am using this with Skyrim SE but this is a simple .esp with 5 records so it should work. The quest is set to run on startup so that should not be an issue. I also attached the spell to an sword and it did not stagger archers. The statement "note: drawn out of storage, not simply equipped" is referencing player but maybe this is also for NPC? Maybe this works only in combination with other mods the author was using.

I would not use this as a base to make an archery stagger mod. If you were to make one I think you could add a spell to stagger with condition target is attacking and condition target has bow type equipped, skip condition target is in combat. Then attach that spell to every weapon file. A "lighter" version would be a perk to stagger with the same conditions then attack that perk to all races.

If I could make this it would take a full day or more so I am disregarding the idea of this mod. Think of it like this, If this worked an archer with a bow drawn could be interrupted by a dagger to metal armor or an arrow to a metal boot, not very realistic. If a ping to a boot ruined my shot I would not be happy.

Thanks! This mod is exactly what I was looking for! Unfortunately it hasn't worked, yet.

Is there any chance you could make a version where the player isn't affected?
Or maybe a version that makes you immune to it once you get the "steady hand perk"?
I think this is a cool mod but I like the idea of keeping close range archery a little more viable, just because I think it's fun.
