Just a small note for people, as mentioned in the description, the rework of the mesh means that the old texture does not correctly apply to the new model any more, making it incompatible with other retextures if you just try and use my mesh from the download here. If you would like to see how bad the original mesh was before I got my hands on it : Enjoy
I also did not fix the bug where no physics were applied to the chalice and it would just float in the air if you dropped it from your inventory. I couldn't find a way to ensure that you also couldn't knock it off its little stand and have it get lost in the castle never to be found again and potentially lose this entirely unique item. This means if you would like to display it somewhere in your home, you will still need Jaxonz Positioner to move it around.
I hope you all really enjoy the rework of this item and get lots of use of it in your game.
Add your comments and queries here. I hope people are generally pleased with this overhaul. The original was pretty bad, so obviously it was a fairly low bar to clear.

Is there any chance that this mod could be ported to Xbox One? When I received the bloodstone chalice I was excited to look at it, and then immediately became sad and went searching for a mod to fix it. I’m not able to post mods so I’m just wondering if somebody could just allow console players to have this beautiful retexture? That would be greatly appreciated. There’s currently nothing available for bloodstone chalice overhauls in the mod list for Xbox.
I'll put that together now. It will take a while to upload though as I am on very slow internet Sorry for the slow reply, been busy. Edit: I take it back, my net is being nice to me. All updated
Really nice retexture xD I'm gonna try it out and see how it looks, and I think that if its possible and not too much to ask if you could make a version that doesn't have blood spilled all over would be nice since the Chalice isn't really full =)
I can make it really, really full by moving up the swirls in the middle if people feel that would be more appropriate with the blood spill texture. It could be uploaded as an optional file if people wanted it. Edit: I tested it out, and decided that I like it more that way myself, so that's now up in the optional files for download
Hey Gamewich and Nazenn... great work. The animation is not working for me either, however, I have already completed the Ancient Powers quests and gathered all the Ancient Vampire parts needed to maximize the Blood of the Ancients vampire power... maybe this has something to do with it. I did not a new game to see if that has anything to do with it...
Thx for the texture replacer!! I love the new look.
Another item maybe worth noting, looking at the images posted, my chalice is not filled to the top or overflowing... the posted image is full on the pedestal. - Endorsed!
Update is now up to fix that animation bug Grab either the update file or the optional file, both have been fixed via my tests in my game, so hopefully thats for everyone. I'm really not sure what went wrong there, all I had to do was recopy the mesh file XD And that picture shows what it looks like if you grab the optional "Overflowing Blood" mesh file from the downloads section.
Yep, this mod is an extreme improvement over Bethesda's version (the blood in particular looks really nice). Endorsed.
As for the physics bug, could a small ESP file be used to link the inventory versions of the chalice to a duplicate mesh? From a look in the Dawnguard master file, the activator in the castle could link to the original mesh, while the chalice in the inventory could use the duplicate with physics enabled.
That's a pretty good idea on how to fix that, but I don't really want to include an esp for such a simple model replacer. Thanks for the idea though, and thanks for the endorsement, glad you like it
Funny enough, I have been looking for retextures of this ever since Rustic Silverware. To think the one retexture I'd be getting after this is once again from you. XD
I have to admit I've never played a vampire character, but when I was asked about the chalice and investigated the textures, I knew that once again Bethesda dropped the ball. It's just as bad, if not worse than the White Phial fiasco. To think you have to go through an arduous quest to gain an ugly and misshapen item is a big letdown. Quest items should be unique and special, not only in effect, but appearance as well.
Hey just coming back with an issue. It seems the blood itself in the chalice isn't animated, no matter which version I use (so far I used 1k, 2k-1k, and the overflowing blood mesh too). I'm not sure what is going on, since the vanilla mesh is animated properly.
Just a note: the mesh I'm looking at is the static chalice in Castle Volkihar after the quest to fill it is done.
I haven't played that questline, so I can't really help that much. From what I've seen, the chalice animates properly in inventory view, but stops if placed in the game. I would assume it's designed to only work in that one location, but I can't say for sure. Maybe Nazenn can figure out what the issue is, since he made the new mesh.
Alright, I hope Nazenn sees this and hopefully it's fixable without too much trouble. There won't be much use if the beautiful mesh and textures work properly only in inventory view.
Sorry, I was a bit slow on seeing this. In future if theres any problems I have my nexus inbox open I'll have a look and see if I can figure out what the problem is. I have no idea on why its not animating considering I literally just copy pasted the new chalice mesh into the same file as the old one so I didn't edit the animated blood mesh at all. Hopefully its a simple fix from within nifskope, if not I might need to ask around to find out whats going on.
I have a few ideas on things I can try. Hopefully I will get it done today and you will either have an updated file to fix it, or a sticky explaining what the problem is
Edit: Problem fixed, go grab the new update file, OR grab the optional overflowing mesh file which has also been fixed

can you release a v1.1 with fixes added>

To be seen.

Frankly, if you don't want the blood, just copy the plain textures and rename them. Paste over the others, and problem solved.
Edit: I tested it out, and decided that I like it more that way myself, so that's now up in the optional files for download
