A great mod to help prevent savescumming in dangerous encounters.

Got this to work with the Special Edition by opening up the .esp with Creation Kit, search for "nsic" (the acronym used for this mod) and simply add and remove a character in the Editor ID so that Creation Kit thinks an edit has been done and allow saving. Hit save and it should load up fine with Special Edition. There is no need to modify the .pex that comes with this mod.

One warning on doing the above method: this creates a modified esp file that is NOT BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE WITH OLDRIM. Be sure to make a back up!

The only downside of this mod is if you play on master with dual combat realism and a mod that I have which makes archer more deadly and you get sniped randomly by an angry jerk across the field and get one shotted and have not saved in 30 minutes lol.

That's very good, but i know a better alternative that is much more hardcore. So i recommend your mod to everyone who only want to disable save during combat.

I use saveoverhaul. this mod removes the save and load function completely. Instead, the only time you can save is with autosave'. The only time you can load a game, it's when you open your game. Your game also save everytime you rest, but honestly, i didnt test it too much since i'm not playing skyrim seriously yet.

Save Overhaul takes an interesting approach. The only thing I found frustrating is that if you have a pretty heavily modded game you know that once in a while you're gonna crash, no matter how much effort you put into getting your setup right. It can be a real downer when you lose progress because of a crash and it hasnt saved anytime recently.

I have a heavily modded game. Have not crashed in 7 months because I make sure I do my research on mods before I use them.

I remember hoping for a mod like this one. It's definitely got my endorse. ^^
