I like the idea of a dark elf house in Skyrim, rather than isolating the dunmer to Windhelm and Solstheim, but I feel like this house is a little plain. Maybe adding assets from Elianora and other modders could liven the place up a bit? Elianora made some dunmer styled furniture by overlaying some textures. I just feel like the house is a little empty for a living space.
Hi Superkuif I test the house and looks perfect for a peacefull dark elf . However, I have to tell you that I found a missing textures from the steel battle axe on that weapon container. (I don't know how to call it). The rest is fine and I love the material chest in front of the workbench, that makes me laugh.
Thanks for your feedback, i think if you re-install the mod the textures should be there. I dont know why this aint loading but if maybe something went wrong with moving the textures. Let met know if this fixes it.
This is a very simple house, although you can catch fish to live, but more is planted, so you can consider adding a tent, there is only one table will be lonely. Add maple tree to make it more beautiful.
I added a tent while i was making the mod. I didnt like it so i removed it. I dont believe mapple trees come with a snow version. Maybe it would be an idea to make a little fishing pole so you can acctually ''fish''
Going to download v1.5 when I get home (leaving work early, lucky me--weather's horrible out here in Jersey) and give it another try. Had the following issues with v1.0:
1) Game crashes like crazy before I even approach the house--crashes near Yngol Barrow which isn't far from it. Yngol Barrow (and several other areas) have always been problematic with consistent crashes. Just having the house near by makes the game crash more frequently. The workaround--go *around* the Barrow rather than past it.
2) Got the purple picture frames on every floor and one of the items that makes up the storage container in the living room is also purple. Also the smithing storage chest outside is showing through the wall in the living room.
3) Have trouble navigating back up the stairs from the lower level of the house--it's like some invisible bounding box is partially blocking the staircase at the bottom.
Number 2 should be solved now as all the textures should be included. Number 1 and 3 are new to me, what are your computer specs? If you still have any issues please let me know and i will see what i can do about it.
Number 2 texture issues is solved, but I'm still getting the smithing storage chest inside *and* outside:
Outside: http://1drv.ms/1x0Kxgc
Inside: http://1drv.ms/1LFY7Ak
I thought about using the markfordelete command on the one on the inside. Then I noticed the contents for both were identical, so I assumed they were linked.
Number 3 is solved as well--it was one of the mannequins - it had moved out of its normal position and I guess its bounding box was blocking the stairs at the lower level of the house.
I'm not sure what you can do about the first. As I've said, I've had crashing issues near Yngol Barrow before and near the Windhelm stable. Similar to the problem near that waterfall between Riverwood and Honeybrew Meadery and the ice water jetty that takes you to Castle Volkheim in Dawnguard. Others have had problems in those areas, and it may have something to do with using high res-texture mods for landscape and water (I only use 2K for both, not the 4K for screen archery). My system isn't new, but it should be more than adequate for the game:
Unfortunatly i dont think i can do anything about the crashing. I'm not super fimmiliar with texture mods so i cant tell much about it. And the smithing chest is supposed to be in and outside. This way you can acces them from both sides. If you do not like it you can indeed type markfordelete but it has to be the one inside since that is just a static with an activator linked to the real chest outside.
about the crashing i found dirty edits with TES5Edit in your mod ( Undeleted Records: 28, Identical to Master records: 207 ) see ScreenShots i add. So i recommend you to clean your mod with TES5Edit here is the link for this tool: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859/? here is the link for video how to use this tool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOQO2S6HDBw need help send pm
I really love this house mod! Endorsed. P.S I'm planning on making my first mod and is it alright if i place it near that location? Not exactly like on it but kinda near it?
very nice looking house! only problem for me is I cannot activate the fires or buy the house. I press A (I use a controller) and nothing happens. this would be the perfect beginner home if these problems were fixed. anyone else having these issues?
Damn... tweaked some things and hoppefully fixed it. Please re-download then re-install.(Download is required for changes to be apppyled) Anyway sorry for this annoying event. If you still get ANY errors please pm via nexus and explain as much as possible.
I have a problem with the purchase of the house. It doesn't respond when I try to purchase the house. I can go inside and go into the chests but the the boards are still on the door and the stuff outside isn't set up. Otherwise the house is great.
I deleted the original and started over, still not working on the purchase part the inside is great having some mesh problems on the picture frame no biggie.
Hopefully should be fixed now. Please re-download and install.(Download is required for changes to be apppyled) Really sorry for this unfortunate event. If you still get ANY errors please pm via nexus and explain as much as possible.
I like it and the location is awesome. Few mods ever touch that area. I don't know if you take requests, but in case you do, it would be awesome if you could add a dark elf family to live there. Anyway, will endorse and check out asap! Keep up the good work!
Squashy could be just blind..(he's been accused of THAT before), but, where is the bed? Haven't downloaded yet, so this is probably a stupid question. Guess the only way to find out is to go ahead and download..
