HI. I tried porting this to Special Edition with BSA Extractor > remove the bsa file (because i have the contents of it and every bsa file makes special edition crash) > NIFF Optimizer > Add Mod in NMM > Creation Kit Open , Save, Overwrite > Should be done
But .... when i go in game and search it in console commands with "Help Templar or Help Longsword" nothing comes up. Even it does not come out in AddItemMenu mod. And right now im in Oblivion. By that i mean im playing Vigilant qeust Mod and im not near a forge and i dont have the ebony smith perk.
Whats the key word for searching in console commands ?
Its called "Templar longsword" ingame so you should be getting results with that search, and additemmenu should definitely show something. So the mod is either not activated or not ported properly. When you load it in sse's ck use "FFTemplar" as filter, you should see 2 weapons, open one and make any change (not ID), name for example, you can then revert this change and now save. That is to make sure the ck is saving it, i'm not certain it will save if no modification at all has been made, but maybe it's just me being paranoid.
Thats for replaying but im getting The Warnings Tab and it wont let me save. I opened the 1handed version and change it cost from 1250 to 1350 and pressed ok and then whe i try to press Save , the Warnings tab opens
Ok, the ck part is probably fine if it appeared. Now, crash, if meshes were run through NifOptimizer that should be alright. It could the cubemap (I believe there's a custom one, can't remember though). And cubemaps can crash SSE if uncompressed.
The easiest would be to extract a vanilla cubemap and replace the one in this mod. SSE's cubemaps are in "Skyrim - Textures3.bsa", you could try for example Ore_Quicksilver_e, Ore_Steel_e or one of the Shinysomething_e. Also I believe I uploaded compressed cubemaps on the paladin mod page (bottom of the download section) for people porting for personal use, the steel one in there could also fit.
Ah sorry my freind, but i dont understand what you are talking about Can you explain like you are talking to a lower life form ? What should i do ? I downloaded the cubmaps from your paladin mod. What do i do with Cube_Ruby , Cube_Gold, Cube_Steel ??
Np, one sec I download this mod I'll give you more specific instructions on where to place what. Actually, let me just upload the compressed cubemap of this mod.
Here download and install this: link It should overwrite the one you extracted from the bsa. It's the same cubemap just compressed. If for some reason it doesn't work, rename "Cube_Steel" from the paladin to "cubemap" and place it in "textures/ffswords/" so you have "textures/ffswords/cubemap.dds" which is where this mod will look for it.
So i overwrote the cubemap from the paladin mod with this one you gave me and now in FFSword folder there is cubemap.dds with the rest of templarlongsword1h .... But it still causes a crash ingame when i try to hover the weapon in my inventory ..... i must be doing something wrong
Sorry even tho you went your way to help, i still have CTD
Wait ... Im just dumb. I just realized that i put the cubemap in the meshes FFswords, so after i removed it from meshes and placed it in the textures ffswords, everything is fine. I can hover over the sword, i can equip it , everything is fine.
Unfortunately there is a problem.... i noticed it just now, because i was playing mostly in first person view and i was using a lightning overhaul and everything was dark as hell..... It seem that the 2H version of the sword clips through the back of the character
That's controlled by the skeleton mainly and I think armor/clothes have a setting to adjust how far weapons sit. But there's nothing one can do to solve that in a particular weapon.
Tried replacing your model for another weapon in the game, SSE version, using nif optimizer and everything. What exactly causes the crashes and how do i stop it? it's a great mod, i'd hate to have it slip by.

Should i ignore this ? Is everything saved ?
I added it to my inventory with console command. And when i go to my Inventory and try to hover over it , the game crashes
