PERFECT ! thank you very much it's the best candle and magelight "fix" available on nexus - it fixed the blinding white - the radius is just right that it doesn't destroy dungeon ambience (you can still see it's dark in corners or a few steps away) - the brightness is subtle enough that you forget you have the spell active (checked twice in a lit area because I tought it was over) yes there are other mods but they completely change the spells, this mod simply makes vanilla spells better with no downsides 10/10 would download again
Installed this last night and something went totally wonky with my game. My shouts aren't charging up and working correctly about 1/2 the time. Can't Fus Ro Dah dudes off a cliff, just not Skyrim anymore lol. The candlelight looks great however. I also installed zzjay's sweet looking Withcer 3 Yennefer and Triss armors at the same time. That could be the mod that screwed me up, don't know for sure. Anybody have conflicts with this candlelight mod? Didn't figure on this having a problem with say Mighty Magic and Apocalypse Spells. I also use SPERG. Any known issues? Thanks.
Improved Mage Light works fine for me. It haven't cause me any problems. It seems to only change the values that effect the blinding brightness and radius area of effect for the Candlelight and Magelight spells. If you have conflict, likely is due to other mods you been adding. Try LOOT to check load order and run FNIS (if you use it).
That's awesome. Except it doesn't keep the vanilla color and provides a totally different light (which happens to be stronger and more blinding), doesn't increase the radius as much as this mod and doesn't increase the duration either.
Makes sense to conjure forth a blinding light that makes your vision worse. On a more serious note this Candlelight still creates the feeling of walking in darkness, it's only double radius after all. The biggest effect of the mod is that when you look closely on things, you can actually see what you are looking at instead of getting the reflected blinding light in your eyes. Works well for those of you that use darker interiors and nights, since you usually need to sit in a dark room to be able to see anything in game, which further emphazises the blinding effect of Candlelight! Keep in mind that all this directly affects your IRL health and endurance.

Maybe if someone plays with very expansive mods they don't need those small fixes but they're perfect for moderately modded vanilla.

Thank you for providing an alternative though!
