Installed on Skyrim SE, works perfectly but had the dark face bug. To fix it, try: Open console, click on the guard, type setnpcweight35 Works great together with My home is your home, so you can have a day and night shift.
Looks I am very late. I hope the author is still replying, I have just noticed now that only the male models can be given follow orders. The female models can't be spoken to and have no option for following. Please fix this. I would really like it... I am using Vanguard 1.1 version... I have edited this reply, just recently I noticed that battlemages and those with magic abilities mentioned can use their magic spells and abilities. Please look upon it also. I hope you add more races, magic abilities, models, etc in the near future.
Yup am still replying and pop in here to check every so often.
No I will not be adding any other races, apologies for this but ever since the random updates I've given up on creating mods for Bethesda games in general.
With regards to female followers not being able to be spoken to - this should not be the case with the mod, can you please push the mod lower in your load order please? And ensure that whatever follower framework you are using is loaded after.
As an example: 0. Your other mods 1. Hired Guards 2. EFF (Extensible Follower Framework)
I will come here a bit more often to check on this comment. If I do not/have not replied to you please send me a PM. :)
To anyone that's having a ctd when you spawn in the homeguard/vanguard just remove the hired guards.esp folder in facegen, I did this and I no longer crashed. However, greyface will probably happen. Also just realized how old this thread is... Is there perhaps a ported version to SE out there?
This mod works with SE and AE if you just load it normally as a plugin, but if someone wants to make an official port - fine by me as long as credit is given to me and a link that leads to this mod page too. :)
Very interesting mod! But!!! Dark Face Problem! I play SLE. I use the CBBE body replayer. All the male guards have gray faces, the same with or without files. Experiments with weight, different weight options, also did not give anything.
The gray face bug will always remain a mystery for me, back then I tried fixing it and it did work for me, never had the bug afterwards with this mod alone even too.
But for other people it keeps happening, so it can be potentially something overwriting the mod itself? Other than that no other clue..
Thank you for replying. They shalt become the Imperial Landsknecht to guard Ivarstead when I become Jarl of that area. (Technically I can't become an Elector Count....but oh well)
Can’t make this work on SE. Tried to console both Help Vanguard and Help Homeguard, but it does not return a set of IDs. How did others get this to work on SE?
Make sure that the Hired Guards.esp is loaded. If this isn't working then something must be overriding the mod itself (but I cannot see this as a possibility since I doubt a mod can even overwrite my additions).
If you have a large modset have you used bashed patch from Wyre Bash to ensure that all new additions added by your mods will appear?
Will give it another try. It was probably my fault that I couldn’t get it to work then, as I was still new to Skyrim and modding at the time. Hopefully I know enough now, as this mod is exactly what I’m looking for, and I couldn’t find anything like it. I keep on hearing in other mods though about a different form if from Skyrim LE which has to be converted to that of SE to make the mod/s work in SE without issues. How true is that here? Thanks, and endorsed.
And you don't have to convert anything, this mod just adds new NPCs that are tweaked in favour of the player that act as guards with other mods such as EFF or Nether's Follower Framework.
Taking into consideration personal usage of this mod as well as other mod users, this mod works fine on both SE and AE without conversion. Sure there seem to be a few bugs here and there but nothing that I can recreate. But again, these bugs can be easily overcome through a follower framework/outfit manager mods etc.
And that is truly the case, barely any mods like this, hence why I took the initiative back then haha! ^_^
I have a question if anyone know please tell me that can i give guards weapons and armour from my side too and also can I command them to guard my house?
Try https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11662. NPC Clothes Changer and Maintainer. I use it in every single playthrough because I like to spawn Guards at my player castles and outfit them like my own little faction lol it can cause issues with other mods that force an outfit on an npc. (Like AFT or EFF) my general rule with all that is use AFT/EFF for follower outfits. And use the new mod for other npc's like guards, ect

Nothing is stopping you from Roleplaying certain situations. I do that all the time, and I may have killed a NPC or two when they made me angry. :p
