About this mod

Fill up all those empty modded homes and forts with The Vanguard and protect your family and stuff!

What is Hired Guards?

Unlike my previous (highly ambitious) Brotherhood of Blood mod along with the fact that it came with a bunch of problems, I decided to create a successor.

Hired Guard’s aim is to create soldiers/guards to protect you, your family and your holdings. When you spawn them, they walk around their
respective spawn zone and stay there until they die. When dead, you can easily replace him/her by re-spawning. You can also besiege an enemy fort for both Modded and the CivilWar questline. They are fully compatible with any fully navmeshed homes and compatible with all mods. Fill up all those empty modded homes and forts with “THE VANGUARD”.

Can I have them as followers?

After two bloody hours trying to fix the follower problem, I have finally managed, and yes they work with follower mods such as AFT and what not...
Go Forth Dragonborn, lead your men to victory and honour... and possibly death!
Go Forth and besiege a fort/town and kill all those insignificant and worthless souls who live within them.
YOUR MEN ARE ALL SWORN TO CARRY YOUR BURDENS!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I kill them?

Poor souls are fighting for you, how dare you! But yes, you can.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Are there female versions?

Yes there are.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the difference between Vanguard & Homeguard?

The difference between them is not much, its only the name Vanguard is the original file (the name will probably change in the future) and Homeguard is just a renaming of the original file for immersion purposes. If you are switching from Vanguard to Homeguard (or vice-versa) there is no need to re-install, just replace the main .esp file. Due to the fact that I only changed the visual names and the IDs remained untouched.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do I spawn them?

Just open the console with the " ` " or " ~ " key (Depends on what Keyboard you have) and type in:

" Help Vanguard " or " Help Homeguard "
(Depends on what version you downloaded and of course do not include the quotes)

A bunch of IDs with the guard names should pop-up, then use this given code:

Player.PlaceAtMe (I.D OF NPC) (NUMBER OF GUARDS YOU WANT)

Does this mod have the Gray-Face Bug?

Not anymore! There’s a file that is needed to prevent this from happening just follow the instructions and you’ll be good to go!                                             ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I use NMM to install this?

Not really sure, since NMM can misplace certain files, so I recommend you to install this manually. If it is confirmed that using NMM is
safe to install this mod, I will allow the file to be downloaded through it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do I install this?

Step 1) Open the Winrar file, if you don’t have Winrar, google it.

Step 2) Place the “Hired Guards.esp” in your game datafolder.

The Elder Scrolls VSkyrim\Data\

Step 3) Go to the Gray-Face Bug Fix folder in the rar file.

Step 4) Place the “Hired Guards.esp” folder in the given directory:

The Elder Scrolls VSkyrim\Data\Meshes\actors\character\facegendata\facegeom

It now should look like this:

The Elder Scrolls VSkyrim\Data\Meshes\actors\character\facegendata\facegeom\Hired Guards.esp

Step 5) Now you’re good to go! Enjoy!
