      load SBF after this mod. TES5Edit shows that the SBF visuals will be winners. Nothing else is changing.

    Marcurio has a constant Blank Earth spell in effect while he sits inside the tavern, and while outside of combat. It doesn't turn off. Anyone else have this issue?

    ADDED:
    It finally turned off once I reached around level 30.

    Hello.

    Well I'm not a specialist but when looking at Derkeetus or Borghak's perks through iAFT, I don't see either of them having any perks; if I use the old version of the mod, Derkeetus has at least some of the light armor perks; so is it iAFT that doesn't show properly the perks? or are there some missing perks in this version? at higher level, having any armor without the matching perks is useless or almost.

      The editor says Derkeetus has the Jars Perk. Exploding arrows on impact. I have not met him yet to see it in action. Borgakh has the Tug-O-War Perk. Have not seen him in my game yet.

    This Mod makes Uthergerd susceptible to the bawls bug and thus requires the Modern Brawls Bug Fix (detailed description of the bug over there). You don't need to install the individual fix mod, if you already use a mod that includes it such as Enhanced Blood Textures.

    EBT is dated 26 October, 2015. It doesn't include MBBF, it uses Brawl Bugs Patch, so EBT users should use MBBF and keep the patch after EBT files.

    I really like the idea of this mod, but when I had it running on a new game and went to brawl with Uthgerd the Unbroken to make her a follower, about halfway through she flipped me in the air and then draw her sword and killed me. So much for no weapons! I can't get her to behave normally and therefore I can't get her as a follower. Any way to fix this?

      Hey there. Sorry you are having trouble. You are the first to report this, so it might be a mod conflict of some sort. Does this happen in a (mostly)vanilla game? What is your load order?

      I don't have any other follower mods and this has never happened before, only since adding in this mod yesterday (which is sitting at the end of my load order). Before adding this mod, everything was working fine (including Uthgerd in my last new game), and I hadn't added any other mods before starting my current game.

      Other mods are item sorting, purity, timing is everything, the choice is yours, trade barter - those sorts of things. Not ones that alter followers that I am aware of.

      If you have a suggestion as to where it should go in my load order, I'm happy to test further.

      Thanks for reporting back. Very mysterious behavior indeed. Let's ramp up the troubeshooting then, ok?
      Here goes:

      Did you add this to a new game, or one where you had met Uthgerd before?

      Anything that messes with magic effects or the like could be in conflict.
      do you have any mods that add magic cloak effects (like wet and cold, enhanced blood textures)?
      Do you use any mod that offers a fix for the brawls bug?
      Is the behavior reproducible? did it happen more than once?

      Are you versed in using Tes5Edit? Did you spot any conflicts there?
      Would you mind posting your load order? (which is to say: since you are the first to report this issue, i would think it is something very specific. Maybe a conflict with any of your other mods or the like. I don't think resorting the mod in your load order would help, but it might be a good idea to share which mods you are using).

      - Tried this with two new games now, neither character had met Urthgerd before.

      - I don't think I have any of these mods, but my load order is below - if there's something that you think might conflict, please let me know.

      - I wasn't aware there was a brawls bug as I haven't ever encountered a problem until now.

      Is the behavior reproducible? did it happen more than once?
      - It's happened four times now with the original character. I just made a new one and ran directly to Whiterun and tried again, same thing. She had a red haze spell thing, flipped the guy and then drew her sword and killed him.

      I don't know anything about Tes5Edit.

      Try to install either "enhanced blood textures" or the new "modern brawl patch" http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77465/? and see if this solves the problem. It is high likely, that Uthergerd enters full combat, because a cloak spell aggros her. You can try different brawls around the world. If they trigger a sword draw as well, it's that bug.


      I'll try to see if i can reproduce the error on my end. It may be that SFL requires the brawl bug fix now due to the changes to uthgerd. So i guess it's good if we manage to unearth that. Would you mind testing if it also happes with only official plugins, USLEEP and this mod? This is what I'm gonna do, but it's good to get a second confirmation. Thank you.

      I'll do some checking over the weekend, but just quickly I can say that on the first character (not the one I created yesterday), I was able to brawl successfully both with the guy at the Whiterun stables and for the first Companions' quest (where you rough up a Whiterun citizen) and that worked just fine. Then again, your mod doesn't change Ysolde or the stable guy as they are not followers, so maybe this isn't relevant.

      Okay, so tried with all mods EXCEPT official plugins, USLEEP and this mod, and it happened again. I also noticed that the game crashes when I try to save (either via the menu or with F5).

      When I turn the mod off and run only official plugins and USLEEP, Uthgerd behaves like she should (and I can save my game).

      I then got the modern brawl patch you mentioned. As Uthgerd is super tough with the specialised followers mod on, especially for a level 1 just out of Helgen, I consoled in daedric armour and consoled health to 500. You'll be pleased to know that she behaved as she should. So it looks as though maybe you do need to have the brawl patch for specialised followers to work (at least with Uthgerd).

      All that said, I don't really want to use the brawl patch because until I installed this mod, I had no problems with brawls (or saving), and I don't like the idea of having to install mods to fix other mods. I don't know what's going on with the inability to save, but that's a deal breaker for me.

      I hope my play testing has helped out a bit - good luck with the mod in future :-)

      Thank you for the report. I'm sad to hear this is a deal breaker for you.

      The Brawl bug patch mods will tell you, that this isn't really a bug with Specialized Followers, but a bug/shortcoming in the brawl scripts in Skyrim. The treat the usage of magic as a hostile action. Many mods to use magic effects in the background to achieve various things, e.g. the enhanced blood textures mod adds a magic effect to NPCs to give them the bleed effect visual, Wet and Cold does the same to add wet effects and cold breath etc). I added some effects to Uthgerd, and i think what happens is she just equips her new magic effect during brawls and thus triggers the brawl abort condition.

      There are basically only three things i could do about it:

      - Add the brawl patch to my mod like others (enhanced blood textures) do. This would put the responsibility to keep the included version up to date on me.

      - Add the brawl bug as a requirement for the download and let users know they don't need it if they already have enhanced blood textures.

      - Remove the effect from Uthgerd

      Seeing how long this took to be uneartherd (and again thank you for that), i think a lot of people already run some version of the bug fix (or Uthgerd is really really unpopular as a choice ), i don't think option three is the preferable one. Personally i prefer option two over option one so this is what i'm going to do. I'm sorry if this means losing you as a user, but i hope you can at least respect my reasoning. I'll be putting you in the credits section for finding the bug if you don't mind.

      Hah... I knew something like this would come up. The base mod was made almost entirely before the Creation Kit was released. I used TesSnip and SkyEdit to mess with things. They allowed me to do some tricks to the game engine that the Creation Kit doesn't allow. Some of these tricks involved making spells that were combination self/touch based. If these effects are ever opened in the Creation Kit, it will "fix" the errors, which makes them not work.

      As far as I'm aware, tricking the game engine like that actually kept working through every patch. This edited Legendary edition may have touched those records, though, which of course breaks them. Gruftlord wouldn't have been aware of this because I never mentioned it.

      In the case of A New Momentum... well it's been years, but from memory, that one has Jenassa cast an invisible spell on the target with each hit, which causes the target to then cast an area spell on self that searches for Jenassa and applies a speed boost to her. A ton of the unique effects I added were kind of weird like this and involved tricking the game engine into allowing stuff. It was all very early in Skyrim modding. I also had to put in all kinds of stuff to trick the AI into using some of these effects. All kinds of silly little tricks were put in because, at the time, there just wasn't a better way.

      Lol, heyhey, nice to see you again.
      I think resaving the mod in the CK was one of the first things i did, bringing the file version up to date with the game (went from 0.93 to 1.7 iirc). I can't tell i recognized any difference, though then again, i haven't been using most of the followers.
      I did all maintenance work using edit, and now used the new CK to make the update for the SE.

      but man, really? this is a Snip mod all along? On your mod page it looked like the mod had been redone using the official CK. There's a bunch of moders out there, that rightfully (out of long years of experience and user complaints) will stigmatize any mod that was touched with Snip. :/

      I have resaved it in the Creation Kit several times, but yes, it was originally built using TesSnip and SkyEdit. Resaving the mod is just fine as long as you don't touch the particular magic effects and spells where I cheated the rules.

      I've never had any issues running this mod for hundreds of hours, but I know that legitimately the whole thing should probably be entirely rebuilt. This is why I never did finish it (I consider it unfinished because I didn't cover all potential followers). I've also not ported it to Special Edition, which I've done with my other work.

      I still plan to, at some point, rebuild the whole thing. I've got years of knowledge now about this game that could be used to make it much better, plus I could finally finish the thing. Any rebuild would be for Special Edition too, so I could make a single version to cover all DLC. I figure during Christmas break (I'm going back to college while still working) I will have the time to do this. I just hope I'll have the resolve, because it'll be a pretty large project.

      Uh, these are awesome news. I for one sure hope you slip into a modding frenzy come christmas eve .

      Doing college and working at the same time is a tough thing to do. I wish you all the success you are looking for, and hope your family will be supportive and understanding of the reduced time you will have for them. So yeah, i understand full well if you wouldn't get back into modding any time soon. at some point in life, time is simply a precious commodity. Use it wisely.

      I've increased hours at work now that classes are on break, and I've been pretty busy with family stuff, which obviously comes first. Still, I thought I'd update you that I am indeed working on this.

      I'm actually kind of excited. Using SSEdit I was able to recover most of this mod, although some parts I'm going through and just rebuilding (no more screwing with the game engine in weird ways). Chevelle has released two more albums since I made this mod and I've still got songs from past albums to use as inspiration for new powers. I have a lot of followers to cover, but my goal is to give every NPC in the base game and DLC at least one unique ability. One ability did change names: Eola's power An Evening With El Diablo become Door to Door Cannibals, which means I can reuse that name.

      I should mention that except for Arise, I don't think the player ever sees these names in-game. I'm just using names of Chevelle songs mostly as inspiration. It seemed like a hilarious idea years ago, but ended up proving to be useful, so I'm keeping it. Still a fan, anyway. =)
