that's one royal horse, but the fact that they aggro all my dragons, even if i leave him 2km away is a bit of a problem. i mean, what the f*#@, that's one hell of an immersion breaker when dragon flies away for 5 minutes from me, even though i'm shooting everything i have at him, only to come back later hoofed down to 1/4 health by my immortal horse. my favorite mount not dying is one thing, but making it an aggresive, invincible tank is something you should think about twice before doing.
Great horse except for 1 thing: when I get off him, he takes off for parts unknown (I assume, the location where I found him) unless I fast-travel to a town with a stable - or sometimes not, or sometimes he'll be down the road in a place like Kynesgrove, where there is no stable, waiting there for me. So, maybe this is a few things, maybe it's all part of the same thing - who knows? He always shows up when I've fast-travelled, so I guess it's not so bad; and he always helps me fight off enemies if they appear at arrival after fast-travel or while travelling, but it's kind of annoying riding down the road, getting attacked by a bear and my horse running off after the fight so I have to go catch him to continue on my journey. Thoughts, anybody?
That was actually I bug I had with him at times, but I thought it was from my own PC. He doesn't run any scripts and he's is in the playerhorsefaction as I recall so he should follow you. All over horses I put in that faction would follow like a companion but something about him was just bugged in my game. I had a horse mod installed at the time that was buggy, so I assumed that was it.
If he still gives you problems, can you use console commands to put a horse into playerhorsefaction? It may be that for some reason, that faction isn't working. I otherwise have no solution for that, and I'm sorry. I have summonable horses who do follow you and I am coming out with others soon.
well I deleted everything and re-downloaded.both files tired them seperately, overwrote both directions and tried sise by side. I either get a purple horse or a half pixel horse with an invisible tail just some pixels with very blue pixels showing on the rump which is overall dark brown. The head mane saddle adn bridle are full pixel. This is one really unique psychodelic horse. LOL Side by gave me one of each at the same time
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong... I duplicated the original horse textures and put my own textures in. I followed the original .dds files completely. I made sure that every thing in Creation Kit followed the textures I put in. I deleted all old textures for Lynch. He shows up fine in both my game and on Creation Kit. Have you tried a different loading order? Do you have any other horse mods that he needs to load first over? They shouldn't be confusing his files, I put his name with everything. I made sure the .bsa files were in the zip. That's all you need, right? The .bsa and the .esp, because I only replaced textures, not anything else. I didn't get any texture warnings in Creation kit like it usually does when there is an error in the files. I made sure that the .dds files had generated minimaps. I am at a loss, but I can try to save without a .bsa, where it's just the textures itself. I saw a tutorial on how to do that, maybe that would work... I am so sorry that this is not working.
Also, what resolution do you have your textures set on. I've only played Lynch on High Quality textures, and if you're having problems that may be way. He's 1024X1024 textures for the body, with generated minimaps.
If you get the time, would you mind PMing me the details regarding the fix for this issue? This very same user is having the same problem with my own mod.
It uses existing meshes, just not existing textures. However, it is a unique horse that you find by completing the riddle. It is immortal and faster than normal horses.
Very nice! I remembered "the book of love" quest so I could go right to Lynch. Just have to get use to his speed! Not use to speed on tight turns. Does he carry extra equipment? I don't see saddlebags or any satchold to put items in. Are those "golden horseshoes", nice touch!
OH OH, Seems Lynch attacks friend and foe alike! He just attacked a hunter for no reason! Hunters don't bother the player so why attack them? The speed is a bit too much when trying to "park" him in tight spaces. Many "vanilla" horses only attack bandits or other clearly "bad guys", or, they run away! He should only attack bad guys or when you draw your weapon. Again, usable saddlebags would be a great help!
Down below in the comments, someone said that you can change his aggressiveness because he doesn't use scripts just by the console commands. I will figure out how to make him hold equipment but I this is only my second mod, so I am still working on the nuances of making everything work correctly. I will make the corrections in personality and minimap soon, since others have complained about it.
There is a problem in the mipmap. What I found was a fully armored pixelated multi colored horse that attacked a stormcloak courier and killed him. He certainly did not look right. Try lowering the agressiveness.
Disregard most of my last comment. I can use console or AFT to change aggression of Lynch and I do like that there are no scripts to this mod. I just simply love the look of this horse and had to have it! Just downloaded and will endorse.
Love the look of this horse; very regal. Tracing for now, but won't DL/use yet because I am currently playing a stealth/snipe character and having the horse go attack enemies while I'm not on him will mess things up for me (but having him be able to follow would be an awesome ability). Also may I suggest a shout power to call horse to the player while in the outside world; maybe even have him take a few seconds/minutes to arrive. Other modders use spells to teleport horse, but I find that a bit immersion breaking, for me, and it has to be equipped to a hand to do. And, of course, if you can make it so I can while on the horse, that would be fantastic as well Again, love this horse. Will probably still DL even if I can't use for this playthrough, just so I can endorse!
