    Hey
In my NMM plugins page this mod is marked red because I'm missing the Unofficial Skyrim, Dragonborn and Dawnguard patches - or so it says - even though I have downloaded USKP. I'm fairly new to modding so I'd appreciate it if you could help me out here :)

If you are still looking for help, you need to make certain you are using one of the unofficial patches, and that you downloaded the correct file. From the sound of it, you have the USKP version, which requires the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. However, most people use USLEEP, the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch, as it is a much newer and more comprehensive version (but requires all DLC or the legendary edition of the game). So, make certain you have at least one of these installed, and then download the version of this mod that goes with the one you chose.

    Hello jimkaiseriv!
Well, first of all, i love this mod, thank you. I like to wander without helmets, and the 15% for not wearing them is all that i was looking for when i found it.
It was working OK and all pretty, but it requires the Unofficial Patches as masters, and with the update of UPs to USLEEP, we must change the requirements. Arthmoor said how to, but this one uses all the patches and i don't think that just changing the masters in Tes5Edit would do.
I ask you, if you could, please, update it so we can use with USLEEP? Thanks in advance!!!

The file is now updated! I hope you continue to enjoy the mod!

The only change in the new "version" is USLEEP compatibility. The old versions are available for anyone who wishes to use them instead, particularly if they don't have all of the DLC.

How does this differ from this mod?

    http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48796/?

I use that one currently, but I'll switch if yours is better.

I can see a few main differences. For one, my mod gives a reduced 15% stat boost when not wearing a helmet, instead of the full 25% stat boost. Personally, I feel like there should still be a real benefit from wearing a helmet; it just feels more immersive to me that way.

Also, my mod only effects the Custom Fit, Well Fitted, and Matching Set perks. However, I'm going to include the other armor perks that benefit from wearing a helmet in the next version. Finally, my mod does not currently provide compatibility within the perks for the cases when an armor mod has more than 4 pieces of armor. This looks like an easy thing to add, so I'll try to include it in the next version as well.

I just uploaded a new version that mods all armor perks that typically require helmets so that they provide some benefit even when helmets aren't worn. I also adjusted the Matching Set perks so they should play nice with modded armors that include more than the normal four pieces.

Could you make a compatibility patch with SkyRE?

I don't use SkyRE, PERMA, or really any mod that alters the vanilla perks. I may make a compatibility patch in the future, but I don't have plans for it right now.

However, if SkyRE or another mod doesn't make changes to the perks altered by my mod, then they should play nice together. I can't really say if this is the case or not, but since my mod is incredibly lightweight and doesn't include any scripts, there really isn't any harm in trying it out and seeing how it works. I'd probably load it before SkyRE and just check and see if the text on the perks changes to match my screenshots. if it does, then the perk should work as intended and the mods are probably compatible.

You could just get one of the Armored Circlet mods, like this one. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/41603/? But none the less it is nice to have another option for Skyrim

Just use Hide Helmet and have no compatibility problems.
