Cool! Will it work with Complete Crafting Overhaul? Because that one has an annoyingly long list of items, especially when mods like Immersive Weapons/ Armours or those big jewellery mods.

I don't use CCO so I can't give a definite answer but I don't see why it wouldn't, try and find out is the best I can say. Also let us know if it does please.

Never knew this had been done already and was/am still planning to do something similar myself. Also there has recently been released a mod that expands on this by making all individual armour pieces and weapons require their own book which is much more in line with what I have planned myself. Also mod added weapons and armours support is my intention.

I'm well aware of the time that would be required to take on such a task but it seems to be a relatively simple process. I thank you graciously for releasing this mod as it has allowed me to see how this change/feature can be implemented.

As a side note in reference to the issue of adding the books to levelled lists and multiple mods editing/adding to certain containers. I believe you are correct in that the change in the last .esp loaded in your load order will indeed cancel out all other changes/edits from previous .esp's unless you merge all changes into one single .esp and/or better still use a bashed patch (most commonly used for merging level list changes). This is what I believe would fix your issue although I am a relative noob myself so don't take my word for it.

Thanks again for your hard work @diatla.

I really like this and what you've done here. Is there any chance you could expand this mod to include more different books(like, one for each type of armor/weapon) and maybe include them in the leveled lists for loot?

I've been doing that for my own game for a while minus the level lists. I've wanted to post them to the nexus but lack of time to learn more about the CK that I do and a few things I want to do for polish has me stopped at the moment. Basically if multiple mods all edit the same thing only the last one in the load order actually happens so if all of them edit Belthar's shop chest only one will appear. I'm hoping I'll be able to sit down and figure out the last bit (getting the book via a quick load quest is my current idea) soon so I can upload what I have.

Any luck with getting those leveled lists working? But more importantly, have you given more thought to splitting the books up more?

I'm not looking to split the books up any further because they are already broken down based on smithing perks required, any more books would just add more items than I see necessary. I have not thought about adding leveled lists before, I don't know what they do so I can look into that, the original idea was simply to clean up my forge list and to have all my crafting books available to buy at belathor's but I've had trouble getting a quest to work properly to do so, hence not releasing this format for other gear as I've done for my personal save.

I'm actually working on a combination of the book requirement and FMO show/hide for all the armor and weapon packs that I use and will be uploading them soon hopefully. If you want to do your own I can tell you how.

Give me a couple of days to put a guide together, right now I am trying to learn papyrus coding for the creation kit. You can add the crafting book to a merchant or chest but the problem is that if you have multiple mods doing the same thing only the last one in the load order takes effect. Otherwise you have to command console all your books and I am not content with that.

so if you have a book that adds all leather and a book that adds leather from a certain mod they overwrite each other?

No, if you have two mods that both edit the same container, say a barrel in white run, only the edits done by the last mod in your load order will appear in game. So if I put armor mod 1 book in a barrel and armor mod 2 book and armor mod 2 is last in your mod load order only mod 2 will appear in the barrel. I don't want to release my stuff and just tell everyone command line the books that don't appear in game somewhere.

ah totally understand i hate using command lines to give me junk tho there is a mod out there that makes a "esp" accessable container you can open (additem menu) im still not the biggest fan of using it. i would rather have the items added to leveled lists or some chest kicking around somewhere maybe the end of a dungeon.

just thought of this for mods that add multiple meshes for the same armor this would be a life saver cause it would be like 3-4x the number of armors under each category for just the base vanilla sets.

There is only one small problem, the iron dagger quest.
I gone through every book in this mod and I just seems cannot find the good'o iron dagger in the list, please update.

Interesting, assuming you are refering to the crafting quest at the beginning of the game from Adrianne Avenicci. I am able to see it when the Crafting Hide, Leather, Studded, & Iron book is in my inventory even with the different dlc's toggled. Also tested on both a no mod build and my crap ton of mods build with no issue.
      1. Check if you are using the correct esp file, there are 4 different ones based on the dlc's you have.
      2. Make sure that you have the book "Crafting Hide, Leather, Studded, & Iron" in your inventory when you activate the forge.

Thanks! I've gone in and done this for nearly all my armor/weapon mods. I use the Frostvale Estate house mod - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58894 - which has a chest near the forge so I keep all my books stored there for easy access.
