You might want to consider marking this mod abandoned, it's half completed and hasn't been touched in years. Or inviting others to continue your work.

Hey i think you have a good idea but why not make them look like the bows from oblivion or make your own bows n add them in
also you could add some feathers on a hunting bow or an amulet of talos or an impiral symbol necklace on a bow for a war bowuse your imagination and then add it too the bow

Just an idea but if you know how to re-texture couldn't you change some of them to be thing's like say a heavy oak bow?..just reminds me of what fable 2 did with some of the crossbow's

This is very ambitious and interesting mod. I hope this continues through development and see where this ends up, because I see a lot of potential. May I suggest that this concept be applied to crossbows? I think It'd be pretty cool to do that

I want to try this, but first can i ask you about compatibility with other mods that alter bows stats and speed, i'm using ABT and better archery, is it compatible with this mod?

As far as I know its compatible considering it only adds bows. However, im not positive. Try it out!

I can vouch for it working with arrow and bolt tweaks (ABT). Better Archery on the other hand I haven't any experience with it, so I couldn't tell you

I'm no longer an archer myself, but it looks like you're gonna have something going with this. No matter where you go, you're gonna find naysayers bashing on your ideas, or pointing out what others have done. So what if you wanna make an archery overhaul that does things other more known mods already do. This isn't as known yet, because it's new. It's not complete, so who knows what you may decide to add.

    But some ideas for you:
    1. Make custom bows with unique models an enchantments and scatter them throughout the world. Extra damage vs certain races, critical chance, armor penetration, etc.
    2. Tone it down to two versions of each bow, just light and heavy. No need for the warbow version.
    3. Make crossbows with scopes? There's a plethora of mods that add scopes to bows, but none that I've seen for crossbows. Crossbows need more love.

i feel like crossbows don't have love because either the mechanics suck, or no one got dawnguard

A crossbow with a scope would probably require a new animation to be made since they don't actually zoom in to begin with.

Thanks man! Im definetly gonna focus more on adding custom bows and quests and such seeing that other people have already made overhaul type things

Perkus Maximus already does the short bow long bow thing so maybe you should just focus the mod on scattering specialised bows/arrows around the game with unique enchantments.

Seems interesting! I use perkma, so I can't use this. But something like this was needed for other perk overhauls for a long time!

I created the mod to make it more realistic. Bows in real life have different poundages and different shooting speed ect ect. The light, heavy, and war versions are supposed to pretty much be different poundage bows

The mod has them alright, but it change states, draw time, and they may use different system to differ between bows, war bows may change to long bows etc.

Hey there, hate to say to be the rain on your b-day but there are a couple things off track here...

First off, for faster/lessDMG and slower/moreDMG bows, thats something you get from SkyRe and the newly released Perkus Maximus, still, might be worth it for people who dont want all the other changes that come with those mods. But still, Zypher (a bow on the Dawnguard DLC) has a 30% speed bonus, so the idea and the way to modify isn't really that hard to do by just poking around on the CK.

On the matter of skill trees and "bow crafting", dont even take the time to do that, make it at a forge, depends on basic smithing perks and done. That way you may get compatibility with other mods. Also, this is not really an overhaul, I accept its a nice idea and its a BETA, but if im right, all you did was duplicate the formID, change some values, and just went on with the current. To make an Archery Overhaul (wich has already been done in :
    -Faster Arrows
    -Spinning Arrows
    -SkyRe
    -Perkus Maximus)
You are going to have to go a bit further, and into papyrus scripting i think, as well as ini tweaks, not just working on the very comfy CK. You will need to know a ShitStormLoadQuake of Java to be able to create a Patcher (SkyProc, google it) so it creates the extra forms for bows from other mods, and adapt them to your name convention.

Any way, my recommendation is that you just take some time, and get your ideas toguether, aswell as the information about what you need to know to do what you want to do, cause otherwise youre in for hell. Also, never ever EVER! FOR NO FREAKING REASON IN THE WORLD, GIVE THE PEOPLE DOWNLOADING YOUR MODS LIBERTY TO REQUEST FEATURES, PEOPLE ARE ASSHOLES, THEY WILL TAKE YOU LITERALLY AND YOU WILL WANT TO DIE JUST SO YOU DONT HAVE TO READ ANOTHER LINE.

    That said, cheers

Well thats unfortunate, I never knew about Perkus Maximus :/
I guess I'll have to change the entire idea then, thanks for the help anyway tho
