    Found this and looks good.

edit: Hm, somehow it won't show the weight on the septims. It still shows 0 there.

When 20 septim = 1 weight, many things are literally worth more than their weight in gold, which is absurd. (this starts at small potions, though skyrim prices are pretty much all over the place anyway, just as weights are.)
While I agree that weightless money is rather stupid, a septim(i.e. 1 vanilla gold) really is no literal gold coin, just a small unit. Thus, you can not equate it to some real world coin. And there surely would be higher denominations, like a 10 or 100 septim coin.
The value of a single septim ingame corresponds more to a 1g silver coin, itself worth ca. 1/200 of a 3g gold coin like the ducat. So, 10000 gold in silverseptims would be 10kg weight, but only 150g in goldseptims. A reasonable septim weight would be inbetween that, like a 1kg.
10000 septims = 1kg, which should be a typical weapon weight, so, 10 weight units. Thus 1 septim = 0.001 weight units is more reasonable (only gemstones and enchanted things then can be more expensive than their weight in gold).

Fair point which is why I linked alternatives in the description

But this made me think so I did a little more research because maybe there is a more realistic number. I found that a Sacagawea gold dollar is 8.1 grams which converts to .0178 pounds. I had based .05 pounds off of 27.8 grams which must have been an older mint of the gold dollar. So if we're assuming the vanilla weight unit is pounds, .01 or .02 would be more accurate based on weight but, of course, that doesn't fit with the economics of Skyrim so a different mod might suit your wants better. One of the links has an option for .005 and I think .0005 if you want that instead.

I bet there's a way to create an MCM menu to just allow for a slider so each person could choose their ideal weight. I have no clue how to do that so there's a project for anyone out there reading this.

I'll probably make some new options for different weights. Thanks for the constructive criticism brosparagus!

You're welcome. Just wanted to point out that the weight system and value/weight ratios in Skyrim are suggesting light coins, if an apple costs an ounce of gold, one might just as well pay in apples.. Currency needs to have a comparably high value/weight ratio.
Can't bring myself to think of 1 weight = 1 pound = 0.5 kg , as it doesn't fit with many things, especially weapons (a sword heavier than 2kg would be too unwieldy to use, their weight in Skyrim is around 10, however). I generally consider anything between 100g and 1kg per weight unit to be applicable for certain items. It's all very abstract, as carrying around 3 pieces of ebony armor would be a challenge to everyone, not just because they are so heavy - in a similar vein, carrying hundreds of shoes around [1w apiece] sounds ridiculous, but is possible.

In general, I'm guilty of running around with hundreds of thousands of septims, as it doesn't matter that much.
For practical purposes, constantly carrying 5k should be feasible (considering late game loot sales), 100k need not be. Otherwise, people will carry gems and little money, in case they need funds(and be forced to return home every 2 days.).

Too bad that Skyrim offers no different denominations (and as such, copper and silver coins) to better scale this.

Weight in ES games seems to be as much bulk as weight, in line w/AD& encumbrance system.

FYI a weight of 20 coins to 1 lb is actually heavy for real world ancient Roman coins on avg, as most weighed in at 2 - 12 grams, and it takes 453.59237 g to make a lb, so the original AD& weight of #50 (50 coins) to one lb is actually accurate!

A #20 weight is quite "weighted" against the coins, unless they are HUGE. TBH, this might be accurate for Septims, as the TES4 CE set coin (swag physical coin w/CE preorder set) was weighty as all hell. Most RL coins of ancient make were smaller. I know a numismatist (professional coin dealer) and most of his (ancient) stock are very, VERY thin and light.

Admittedly, some things cost way too much in ES games, making barter more attractive. .

Was thinking the same thing. I recently thought about how I hated abusing carrying around so much gold, when in reality, you can only carry so much comfortably. If I don't have a mod that keeps me from doing something, I will abuse it. I think restrictive mods like these are great, they make you plan and think. I think the weights amount is perfect too.

So, a gold ingot, worth 100 septims, weighs as much as two septims? Wait hang on.

Okay. A gold bar, worth 100 septims, weighs 1. That would be equal to the weight of 20 septims. Then again, a gold ore also weighs 1, but is worth 50, vs the same 20 septims.

I feel like ingots should weigh a little more... Assuming the weight unit in the game is pounds (which it may not be), I think ingots should weigh a bit more than one.

Either way, I appreciate your feedback!

I love the renaming feature as well as the weight, which I think is perfect. A level 10 non-OP char wouldn't be carrying around 6,000 Septims (300 weight) anyway. Great and simple way to add immersion.

This is going to force me to figure out where I want to stash all of my money. Awesome.

This will make it a tad difficult to purchase a player home. 5,000 gold = 250 (weight units).

Great idea, but i wish the devs would of actually gone into a true currency system with bronze silver and gold. That would fix a lot of the issues. Becouse 1 gold=1000 septums or something like that. And the other isue is that some people want 5000 gold for your atention and who can carry 500 weight

Now .005 may be a better idea, because 1000 septums is 5 lbs(units)

Tis a good point. It's not perfect and I appreciate the feedback.

One of the alternatives that I linked in the description has an option for .005
