I have a question, does the sound work with NPCs wearing high heels? Or it just only works on the player?

I installed this into SSE using NMM version 0.63-dot-something (latest version), and yes, I know, there hasn't been a specific port of this for SSE yet. I'm using the UNP Body released for SSE and the XPMSE skeleton released for SSE, plus Dragonfly BBP for SSE.

The good news is, this mod kinda-sorta works in SSE. The bad news is I'm having three issues:

    1. The footstep sounds are not synchronized with the visually-depicted footsteps, but delayed by about one quarter to half a step or so. This seems to be true at any walking speed, which in my game is infinitely variable b/c I'm using a controller's analog joystick instead of binary walk-don't walk keys. At run speeds the footfalls are so fast it's impossible to notice any miss-sych.
    2. There are no high heel sounds on stairs, wooden or stone.
    3. There don't seem to be any sounds on dirt or gravel, although maybe they're just so soft I can't hear them.

Are these issues some inherent incompatibility between this mod's FX files and SSE, or is this behavior the same in old Skyrim too?

    Thanks.

      Hi RamonSchilder!
The only thing my folder contains is a few files that handle footstep sounds. It should, & will be compatible with any other sound mod on the Nexus or anywhere else.
If your sound overhaul mod contains footstep sounds, you can overwrite them with my mod's files & you will hear my footstep sounds.
If you don't want to overwrite them, then you could use my Compatibility Patch for the "High Heel Footstep only for High Heels" mod. But, note that this requires that mod & some CK editing of your High Heel mods.

TL ; DR - It's not a problem. My folder only contains a few necessary files & does not interfere with any other mod on the Nexus or anywhere else.

About four months ago I got this and loved it, but had to let it go because the sound was for every step. Now that there's a way to apply it to the shoes themselves, I have to admit that I am in a personal euphoria and, at the same time, hell. 'D I refuse to wear any heels without this sound, and I never realized how many outfits I had that uses heels, not to mention the shoe packs and people who don't label their mods with obvious names. It took me sooooo long to finish them, but I finally did, and a quick look in game has made me a very happy lady! Click click click! THANK YOU!

Will this apply the high heels footstep sounds to male as well as female characters or to female characters only?

      Hi Retutitor!
It applies it to the player. Which means to both male & female characters
I'm not sure if it's possible to make it female characters only, at least I don't know how to.

its possible to make it so you only get it on heels but you need to go in creation kit - google - "High Heel Footsteps only for High Heels 1.0"

      Hi FireOogle!
Thank you for bringing that to my attention
I have uploaded a compatible version already (informing the original author about it) & linked to the required mod.

How are you installing them? Thru NMM?
Also, if you're using the CHS-BBP body, refer to ReadMe for links on a fix. Apparently that body interferes with walking footstep sounds sometimes.

Many of the footstep noises sound really good, however there doesn't seem to be any footstep noise from walking straight for me. All of the other directions backwards left right etc seem to have sound and I can hear them quite well, just no footstep sound when walking straight forward. Although with a weapon raised I can hear the footstep sound for walking forward no problem. Just thought I'd let you know, overall though the sounds are all quite nice so thanks for sharing this. Endorsed + Kudos

      Hi Trinad!
Thank you for Endorsing & giving Kudos
hmm, that is an unusual problem. How did you download, thru NMM or manual? Also does this happen for all surfaces or on a specific surface only (wood, stone, dirt or gravel) ? And does this happen when in 3rd person or 1st person?
Maybe you can try putting your volume up & check; if by some fluke forward walking sound is lower.

This will sound weird but it's probably an issue with the skeleton you're using.

I used NMM for install, I've only tried on two surfaces (that I know of, hate to admit that i don't know what gravel looks like in Skyrim) so only Stone and wood so far. I also had to go back in game to clarify that it's only walking straight forward in 3rd person, 1st person had the sound working fine and I can hear it clearly. My volume is also notched up pretty high, but I'll mess around with it some more see if I can get something.

Ah yes, searched around & it seems if you have CHSBHS-BBP body, it could interfere with the walking footstep sounds (while in 3rd person).
If you have that body, refer to below links:
      http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/576876-no-footstep-sounds-while-in-3rd-person-with-weapon-sheathed-need-help-please/?p=8192923

      Hi LizardCor!
Yeah, pictures can't really show sounds much
I'm afraid I can't really record a youtube video, since I still have to learn about editing & encoding a video.

However, if anyone would like to make one, go right ahead & send me a link, I'll post it along with the file (with credits & thanks to the video creator).
