UPDATE: 7 Dec 2014 Hey there! Thanks to some information from Blade8253 it looks like we've pinpointed the cause of children with all of the right stats still running from combat. It would seem that Bethesda have hardcoded the "Flee" behavior for NPCs with the Child marker.
The Child marker is removed from child races by RSChildren Playable, but not the standard RSChildren. This would mean that, even with the right stats for fighting that CFB sets, players with the standard version of RSChildren will have their kid followers running instead of fighting. I only use RS Children Playable, so I hadn't noticed the different handling.
As a solution for this I've added RSChildren Playable (or any overhaul that removes the Child flag from kid NPCs) as a requirement for this mod. If you're still experiencing children running from battle, could you please try reinstalling RS Children Overhaul with the Playable version, and let me know how you get on? My apologies for not realizing this was the cause sooner!
I hope it fixes the remaining issues people have been having and as always, have fun!
I have all the stuff needed for my kid to fight back but when i attack someone he turns on me! i use aft and my child is frothar. help! ive spent Hours just trying to get him to look right and cant figure this out.
Hi, I have a problem, I use AFT so Lucia could follow me, and i choose her to fight back. Then I attack a Guard of Whiterun and she stop follow me and then attack me. Why is that? I have RSChildren and Immersive Children installed, can that cause a problem? Srry my english, not my native language
I have that already. I was just checking to make sure this one worked alright with it. I've self-ported a few mods with it in the past, and sometimes it didn't work, so I figured I'd make sure before I try.
I've got a problem where I can get them to follow me using the UFO guide, but the stop following me option doesn't do anything. They also no longer respond to Hearthfire commands like go to bed.
I use UFO, and, after entering the console commands in the description, the only additional dialogue choice I get with my adopted children is "You know..." and "Nevermind, sorry."
I see where the author here has tried to address the 'flee" thing. My situation is....I use TheKidsAreAlright mod along with ChildrenFightBack mod. When I installed RS Overhaul...it changed the looks of my TKAA mod. I didn't particularly like that look and prefer the TKAA look. Either way, they all ran from combat. Is there anything I can do about this?
Yes. I'm using "Killable and Lootable Children" rather than RS Overhaul, but this will probably work for RSO as well.
First, I have my esps in the following load order:
Killable and Lootable Children.esp TKAA.esp Children Fight Back.esp
Next, use TES5Edit which allows you to modify esp's. Go down to the TKAA.esp then to the Race sub menu. Open each race and scroll down to "Flags" and delete the one that says child.
Then you can close it, open up skyrim, reissue the command to fight, and continue on your marry way. Children will still be killable and lootable.
To b clear.....If using RSChildren & Children Fight Back....I go to Flags & delete Child under Skyrim.esm & RSChildren.esm and RSChildren.esp? Or no. no, no...don't do that ^..^ Plz clarify. Thnx
Having a problem getting the anklebiters to fight at all....Does the ... 'Dolls- children Overhaul' conflict in any way...I've followed all the directions...AFT option set to...Fight back >>>Combat set to.....General >>> Each have a pair of Blades Swords.... I have these children mod's installed in the following order... Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions V2_0_15 RSkyrim children.esm ImCh.esm (Immersive Children 5.0)
RSchildren.esp RSchildren Playable.esp Children Fight Back.esp Dolls-Children Overhaul.esp HearthfireMultiKid.esp HearthfireMultiKid_LastName.esp
Is there a conflict here ??
HELLO ??Is there anybody out there ?? .... out there....out there....out there
Big Problem. Sure, when you remove the child flag from an actor, sure, they'll follow and fight...but they'll stop using the child-only animation markers when adopted. Or can you recommend a way around this?
You can use Immersive children https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/83554 Thats the way around the childs flag. It works perfect. Just to make sure patch these mods properly together. Resolve conflicts..
