Wearing a single-edged blade edge-up is really only for katanas. Sabers, scimitars, and even some Japanese weapons like the odachi (a longer and more curved precursor to the katana) are worn edge-down for a reason.
odachi wasnt the precursor to the katana, that would be the tachi. the (N)Odachi is a anti-cavalry weapon (its comparable to the western greatsword (not the one u see in skyrim))
Thou beest correct in regard of Tachi, though there is a bit more to it: Oudachi aka Noudachi or literally "Greatsword" or "(Battle)field Sword" respectively is a?general-purpose battlefield weapon for infantry. Rather often it was work behind back in a manner, rifle is worn these days, unsheathed before battle without fancy iai-jutsu moves, cleaned and sheathed after the battle. Tachi and later Uchigatana were backup weapons for infantry or cavalry. Issue is, that due to modern stereotypes few consider, that Samurai were primarily mounted archers (or foot-archers) or in case with close-range units, which were less numerous, than archers, were primarily fighting with larger weapons: naginata (polearms), yari (spears), oudachi mentioned above and, what even less think of, ono (war-axes), kanbo/tetsubo (war-maces) or outsuchi (warhammers), since it is rather hard to fight armoured opponent with tachi or uchigatana in one-on-one toe to toe in battlefield conditions. Katana was actually rahter peace-time weapon for self-defence against unarmoured opponent, since there is a little one can do with katana against someone in full samurai armour or for demonstration of status. Kind of like European smallswords of 18th century. There was separate class (or maybe a sub-class) of Zanbatou or "Horse-slaying sword" which were that very same anti-cavalry weapons Regarding difference between regular Oudachi and Zanbatou, well, here is typical Oudachi https://i.pinimg.com/originals/c2/1b/41/c21b419222efbb05ef33835f75172047.jpg And here is "typical" (if such word could be appropriate due to rather limited appearance) Zanbatou https://www.ancient-origins.net/sites/default/files/field/image/Norimitsu-Odachi.jpg
The skeleton will not work with the RaceMenuPluginXPMSE for Weapon sliders.
Weapon Offsets need to go into the MOV tagged nodes or in nodes before the MOV tagged node. everything after will be ignored when the RaceMenuPlugin for XPMSE is active.
I really appreciate your checking my mod. How does that look? http://static-3.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/59568-1-1414891378.jpg
I increased the node before Weapon node by"attach parent node",and change the node position. (at the picture,No224,No514 node) And I changed "default WeaponBack"node to the children of"Weapon Pelvis"node.
So,perhaps Weapon nodes is after MOV tagged nodes.
Offsets nodes need to go before the MOV nodes not after CME node -> Your offset node -> MOV node -> actual Weapon node will work or you add the offset in the MOV node directly.
CME node -> MOV node -> Your offset node -> actual Weapon node Will not work because the RaceMenuPluginXPMSE will make CME node -> MOV node -> actual Weapon node out of it
omg please how do I use it with XPMSE ? I'm not a modder and have been trying to pin point what was happening for like 3 hours. I'd really like to use this mod. Guess I could instal on its own and stop using XP32 ?
just realized it's not updated for version 2.72 of XP32. What version of FNIS and realistic ragdolls should I use to make this compatible? Now I can be a proper Dúnedain Ranger!
Hell yeah it worked. Downloaded version 2.14 of XP32, Race Menu 2.9.6 and 5.2 of FNIS. (not sure if I needed to downgrade FNIS but wtv). Love this mod. Still endorsing even if it's outdated.
you need to install this with XP32 Version 2.14, Race menue Ver 2.9.6 and FNIS 5.2 and let this overwrite XP32. It could lead to problems though since you're downgrading the versions obviously

I try to improve the skeleton.
perhaps need following mod.
XPMSE2.72
SKSE1.72
Racemanu3.2
FNIS5.4.1
(ECE seems not to be supported.)
As for more information concerning it,please check XPMSE description -Weapon Positions (Styles)-.
