    I updated the description and added some screenshots.

    For people who want to know if my "mod" will alter the visual quality, the answer is YES.

    Look at the screenshots, the difference is not so obvious or disturbing.
    It's up to you whether you like it or not, I personally think it's really worth trying.

    And as I said in the description, this tweak is for those possessing a low or mid-range computer.

    Give me your opinion about this!

    These parameters define metallicity, if some objects lose shininess adjust these values.

    The default values are:
    fRefractionLODFadeEnd = 0.0299999993
    fRefractionLODFadeStart = 0.0250000004
    fSpecularLODFadeEnd = 0.1000000015
    fSpecularLODFadeStart = 0.0900000036

    Sadly the author is banned now as I see so most likely he or she will never see my thanks :(
    To anyone reading this I can confirm - this tweak JUST WORKS and it's really harmful.

    I am quality over performance. What are the best settings for quality?

    Works amazingly well! But there's a catch! When I put these lines in my skyrim.ini file all my armors become opaque.
    Ebony and Daedric armors become VERY dark and opaque.
    • • • I came here hoping if somebody could tell me a tweak to fix that while keeping the FPS I gained with this mod intact. • • •

      It is only to use these options, or if you want better performance, just decrease the numbers a bit

      Default
      fRefractionLODFadeEnd
      Default is 0.0299999993.
      fRefractionLODFadeStart
      Default is 0.0250000004.

      or Half values
      fRefractionLODFadeEnd=0.01499999965
      fRefractionLODFadeStart=0.0125000002

    Actually improves fps and visual style (no more dreary contrast just for a small 180 turn in shade to sunlight!)

    Thank you. Highly recommended!
