Sorry, my bad. Your patch works fine with the new jk markarth. I actually was trying to use it with it the merged file of jk's cities made by Teabag, I thought if I just changed the master file it should work, but apparently all the form id's of the objects are totally different for some reason. Not just the first two numbers, but ALL the numbers. It's unrecognizable.
I just deleted the markarth stuff from Teabag's merged file and reinstalled the individual jk's markarth, it's all good and it still cuts down on esp's a little.
Ah. I haven't used Teabag's merged file, but assuming he followed the typical procedure for merging plugins using TES5Edit, the form IDs would have been renumbered, and my patch will no longer work.
Personally, I rolled my own merged version of JK's mods using the Merge Plugins script for TES5Edit <http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37981>, with my changes included. All of JK's mods are pretty much ideally suited for merging, and if you throw this patch in at the time of the initial merge, it should work just as well.
great idea. do you know if Dawn of Markarth puts stuff in conflict of Dragon Break as well? and if it does, would this patch work for Dawn, or could you make one? i ask because i just switched from JK to Dawn
I can promise that this patch won't work as-is for Dawn of Markarth. It has JK's Markarth as a master file, so it won't load without it, and, besides, it only edits items placed by JK's mod. That said, the principle should be pretty much the same, so if Dawn of Markarth does conflict, it can likely be fixed in the same way.
Off hand, I don't know if conflicts or not in the first place. I'll check later today and see what I can find out.
It looks like there is a minor conflict between Dawn of Markarth and Dragon Break. It's not quite as severe as the conflict with JK's Markarth, though. With JK's mod, the additions almost completely block the door added by Dragon Break. With Dawn, there's a vendor stall added in front of the same door, which blocks you from reaching it, but at least still makes it obvious that something's there.
I'm going to ask BluePianoTwo (creator of the Dawn mods) if he minds if I make a patch similar to this one, since I neglected to check first with JK before making this one available, and I feel bad about that.
EDIT: Here's an illustration of the conflict, if you're interested: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/468253/
Thank you so much for the image it was so nice of you to do that. I think I'll just move the stall to the side with Jaxonz Positioner. Thanks again, seancdaug
Don't think i will need this personally seeing as i don't use JK's Markarth, but its really good to see people making mods compatible for others, by altering minor things like this. Fantastic work, keep it up.
