I would like to have an intro video when starting a new game, too. Problem is, I have no clue how to get it done. Ex0rdium, could you maybe give me some help what steps are needed?
And at what point were you wanting the video to come in? Did you want the video to come on as soon as you turn on Skyrim? Or are you talking about right before you start an actual new game in Skyrim?
First off, you will need a bink converter. Download one from this site http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm
To make an intro video for every time you turn on the game. You will need to take your converted video file and rename it. rename it to BGS_Logo.bik
Go to your Skyrim Data Folder and look for the folder called Video. Inside your video folder you will see a file of the same name. That is the default Intro video for Skyrim. DONT LOSE IT! Move this file to someplace that you will always know where it is outside of the SKyrim Data folders, make copies of it if necessary. Now take your renamed file and place it in that video folder.
To have a video play in game involves a script, and to play it at the start up of actual playing Skyrim, would involve placing the script in a quest. Quests are NOT my forte, so you may want to ask someone where exactly to place the script. But the script you need to write is game.playBink("MyVideo.bik"} . With the MyVideo portion of the script being the actuall file name of your video.
PS That is meant to be another parenthesis at the end of the script. It was forcing it to be a smily face like this ")
I want a my own vid. I know how to create a bik video file and I 've tried to edit the script for the intro scene with the carriage but I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to scripts. I've looked into other mods like Falskaar but couldn't figure out how it's done.
Edit: I saw your 2nd post to late. I want the vid get played after I click on new game. Thanks for the hint with the script command for a bik vid.
This mod works perfect by the way. The vid kicks in at the right time and the music is awesome.
The intro scene for the carriage I dont believe is a video, but actual quest scripting. So you will really need to familiarize yourself with quests before completely editing that, that is unless you just want your video to play before the carriage scene. Then that would simply be just placing the script I gave you in the right location in the opening Quest
I've got it to work now. That one line of code you've posted was enough. When I click on new game, the loading screen appears, than my vid plays, then the engine beginns with the carriage scene. Just like I wanted it for a long time. Sorry for the offtopic and thanks dude!
I can and will do when I get a free minute. But basically if you die in game, it will just cut out to a video which will play until its done. Click on the link in the description of the artist that made the music. My video is similar
