Interesting, the problem is that you are the Dragon born and not only have the gray beards crowned you as Ismir the dragon of the north (the emperor) but as Parthurnax point's out the Dragon Blood run's strong in your vein's?.
At the end of the Oblivion crisis Martin Septim gave his life to anoint the Amulet of king's with his Dragon blood, the blood of Akatosh?.
He was supposed to be the last with the Dragon Blood so you can guess that though the later Addon Dragonborn fouled the story by creating a fallen dragon priest from before Tiber septim was supposed to have existed it originally meant that you were a descendant of the Septim Line (perhaps a forgotten outcast line) and rightful heir to the imperial Throne, your ability to resist Potema is another clue, so joining the Stormcloaks is helping to tear YOUR empire apart and fighting for the empire is fighting for a usurper who is sitting on your throne.
You have to give up the Storm crown in either side though maybe it was originally intended that obtaining it would have sparked the third high king/queen quest line that is now missing and was locked out by Bethesda who left the game unfinished despite incorporating the Assassination of the emperor into one quest line (possibly because they had already partially worked on it), you can become a Thane of almost all hold's earning the allegiance of the Jarls but there is no Moot during which you could place your claim to the high kingship with a possible dual or fight with the other claiment and then lead a war of reconquest taking back your empire from the Usurper and the Thalmoor, you can see the tail end's of the story but for some reason they did not implement it and badly tied up loose ends by incorporating them into poor quest line's.
This is an essential addition to anyone who ever rebuilds that quest line but then they will need a new emblem distinct to the dragonborn, perhaps motif of the storm crown or a dragon bone helmet with two dragon born sword's crossed beneath it.

Of course, a lot of folks RP characters other than the Dragonborn, using Alternate Start and what-have-you...so this could be good for them too.

Actually Martin was NOT a dragonborn.

The Septim blood line is of Alessia's blood and if you pay attention it states that only the blood of Alessia's can wear the Amulet of Kings.

The blood of the dragonborn was in the Amulet of Kings... and not in Martin's veins. The ONLY Septim that was a dragonborn was Tiber Septim.

The Amulet of Kings carries the blood of a Dragonborn, If Martin was a dragonborn then he would not have needed the Amulet of Kings.

Thank you so much for clearing that up. I was always confused about that.

      Seven years later, but meh

The blood inside the amulet was of Akatosh. Martin was of dragonblood. I'm not sure if it makes him dragonborn but there were no dragons in conflict with the septims for us to see if the septim in question could absorb its soul. IIRC there is a book ingame that details the covenant between Alessia and Akatosh, where basically Akatosh grants that as long as a worthy successor in the kings' lineage wears the amulet and keeps the dragonfires it, Akatosh would make sure the forces of oblivion do not gain long access to Nirn.

Finally found something that can give my imperial legion home a working banner. I used the disable command and setscale to get rid of the post and set these banners as stand alone banners from the walls in proudspire manor. Just have to move them around manually and resize but it came out great. Now i'm just trying to figure out how to plant one of these on top of the place.

DUDE! This is an awesome Idea, I've wanted to do this forever. It goes well with the custom player guilds; campfire; etc...

Great idea! I'd love to see custom banner images, though

I love the idea of this mod but make it have all hold banners plus Altmer, Dwemer, dark brotherhood, and the hand of saruman too would be nice!

I really like the idea of this mod. Just two little notes. I would be nice to have an alternative file for vanilla Skyrim ( no Dragonborn, Hearthfire or Dawnguard - headers ). A template for the corresponding texture-file would be nice too. Thus, everyone can easily create his own imperial banner.

Have you considered making this customizable like this mod?

I have been looking for a mod like this since forever, and it is finally here. Is it still being developed?

Such a good idea! I love it, definitely going to give it a try! It would be awesome to see more banners (as I'm sure people have said) like daedric symbols, faction symbols and even things to do with a character's job or hobby, like smithing or riding? Could be a real add to immersion when roleplaying!

If they have banner meshes in the main game files, I'll add them. I'm pretty sure House Telvanni has one in Dragonborn, not sure about Hermaeus Mora.

Also in Dragonborn DLC. You can see one on them on this screenshot:

Yeah, I found it in CK last night. Will be in the final release (though I suppose I'll have to have two, one for DLC and one without).
