I'd love to know how many times this has been downloaded since it was featured in a Skyrim Tales short. :D Also works well in that my current character is non-hostile to animals, thanks to the castable Voice of the Sky mod.
ManicZombie, thank you for this cursed/blessed gem. :'D
Edit: Attempted to post it in SSE form with due credit, for all the many peeps who are too intimidated to mess with mod files, but I was informed by staff that posting a port of it wasn't allowed regardless. Apologies!
So. Uh. With no prior knowledge, I did it in less than 10min with NIF Optimizer & this. You can do the thing!!
I demand that this be ported to Special Edition. This, Swearing Mudcrabs and Hateful Horkers are in my opinion essential mods for Skyrim and only Swearing Mudcrabs is on SSE.
Just download it manually and use NMM's "install from file" option to install into SSE.
Find the NIF files in Data/meshes/Actors/mudcrab/character assets/, download and extract the NIF optimizing tool linked below into that folder (don't need to do this, but it's easier) and just drag and drop the NIF files overtop of the exe to get them to work in SSE. Literally takes 3 seconds, just highlight all three --> drag 'n drop.
Dude! holycowmuncher, thanks a ton for this tip! I had another Oldrim mod that wouldn't fully work right (everything but the mesh apparently, as it was replaced by the transparent ! surrounded by a transparent red diamond). After grabbing the nif optimizer, and following those all too simple steps, my Lamp follower (pet) now looks as he should! ^_^

You can use this tool to port basically any Oldrim mod to SSE, with some restrictions though, I believe.
