For those of you who is still following the progress on Duchy of Auray. I have to be honest and admidt that I tried to make a deadline for myself by anouncing I'd make an update during the summer. After my CK started to crash for what seemed to me to be random. This wasn't possible. I lost the inspiration to continue. Thus the mod have been in a standstill for the past months. I'm not anouncing that I am stopping working on it.
At this point I doubt it will ever see the light of day sadly. I'm sorry for giving those of you who were looking forward to this false hope.
A lot of the interior windows from what I've seen. I don't think the ball room have been cleaned out yet. Also the princess tower stair is smaller. I think.
Hi Cirena :) I had a couple of questions about v3.1. I'm currently looking into sprucing up v3.1 of the SE version since some of the events don't seem to be working and the uploader for the current SE version has confirmed they have quit modding and have no plans to update it. Just wanted to clarify - there are added animations in this mod like during the ballroom and lycan events right? Also does v3.1 feature any of the other events mentioned before like courtroom and council events?
Asking because those might require some extra steps for conversions.
All animations are from the vanilla game or the expansions. I'm pretty sure the events are from the new version but I actually think they were there before as well. The latest version is a polish for some tower stairs and minor changes to some rooms. The most noticable thing that is missing in the SE version is the interior windows. Making it look like light is coming in from the walls.
First and foremost, this mod is amazing! I have become obsessed with it, since finding it just a few months ago. I have even started looking into how to use Creation Kit because of the inspiration I have received with this mod. Since you are not planning on porting this to the latest version of Skyrim, or intending to make further updates and changes, would you be willing to give permission for another mod author to update, change, and port over your original concept to be viable in the newest versions of Skyrim? All original conceptual recognition to be given to you and your team, of course.
My question may be silly but the castle is empty, no NPC's or clutter. Am I supposed to finish a questline, buy something or press a button somewhere to make them appear ? I'm a bit confused because in previous versions of the mod everything was already there. Thanks btw it's an amazing player home.
There's likely two things: I assume you're talking about the ballroom? You have to activate the event in the royal office. There's some scrolls on a table saying invitation Raven castle ball. Click on it once. There's no indicator so just click it once to activate it and once more to deactivate it.
The NPCs like servants and such sometimes get locked up if you sleep past their schedule time. If this happens go to their cell just enter it. That wake them up and they should run out and do their thing.
Okay I see ^^ indeed I was talking about the ballroom. I think it's the only area with toggleable furniture but I wasn't sure since there are so many secrets in this amazing player home. Thanks alot for your response, I love your mod so much <3 :p take care
Long answer. I have never got around to start over with my modlist on SE. Thus I don't have SE installet. If I ever finish The Auray mod I will figure out how to do it. But Raven castle in itself will not see an official port from me. There is an SE version ported by someone else. If you want to port the new version be my guest.
If you ever plan to port it yourself, it's actually very easy to do. You can either use Cathedral Assets Optimizer to automate the whole process or load the mod in SSE's Creation Kit and hit save to convert the plugin and use NIF Optimizer to optimize the meshes for SSE.
I have been an adoring fan of your castle for years now, I can't praise your work here more from the forest outside to the church to everything I see you could not have aced the feeling more if you tried and I want to thank you so much for building and sharing the beautiful brain child you have made, truly thank you from the bottom of my hear. If I may? are you still working on this mode as of today?
You haven't seen anything yet.. I am working on it but not as a seperate file. I'm compining it with duchy of auray. Turning it into a dungeon instead of a home. So basically I go ruining everything I made XD But this mod as is will likely not recieve any more updates.
I'll be honest... I avoided trying this mod for years due to the sheer size of the Castle seeming like overkill. Now I feel like an IDIOT for not installing it till last night, because it's got everything I could possibly want for a vampire playthrough, and it's a beautiful place for screen shots. I especially enjoyed the forest around the castle, and the old cathedral, but I've yet to find an area I haven't liked exploring. You did an amazing job on this mod, and I'm sorry I didn't give it a chance a lot sooner!
It's understandable. I have had a lot of people asking about a map for this place. But to make a map would be crazy hard for all the different levels asmall nooks and cranies etc. Have you found the secret rooms yet? From the top of my head there's atleast 4 actual secret rooms.
Well This mod really is something...It's good for those who chose to be a vampire lord and i really really love it. i really love the one who really made this
Everything is fine, sometimes inspiration comes, sometimes it goes. Please don't quit the mod. He has great potential. At least complete it before Lod and release it. And then gradually continue working. you did almost the most disgusting job. But then the interior arrangement and the castle, you do it very beautifully and efficiently. You are smart, you will succeed. give yourself time to relax
still not work, maybe sometime you will explain details in description the features of this mod, better with video showcase :). your mod is the best mod ever i played player home
oh no im so sorry, it work perfectly. but i have one question, how can i order bodyguard to make them follow me. there is just have one guard to order by me, and i cant talk with all people in castle, i cant order them.
If I recall correctly you can't order the ones from the event to follow you. It's actually and identical copy of the ones walking about in the knight's quarters. But they don't have the follower AI package. When you torn on the event you disable the ones that can follow you and enable ones that don't.
A very impressive mod, to say the least. All the hard work is appreciated. Upon entering, the entryway was all black. I just moved forward until I got the dialog for a door. I haven't exited yet to see if that fixed that issue yet. But the second issue I have is best described as lightning bolts of graphics. Mesh issues perhaps? Do you have any suggestions to fix that?
The lighting in general is horrendous in skyrim. But in order to actually help I need to know the exact room or zone it is happening. The entryhall being the first room after the bridge before the ball room?
Yes, that room before the ballroom. I got it to show by opening and closing the map, but it's still all black when I enter it. It may even have happened in another room, but I can't remember.
The lightning effect happens in most every room, depending on which way I'm facing. It seems to be most prevalent looking at a fire. It's also pretty horrible on the trek through the forest. Few rooms are immune to it.
I tried playing around with my display settings, but all I managed to do was make the complete skyrim experience laggy, so I loaded all the defaults back. I'm playing on a Dell Inspiron with the on board AMD graphics chip.
I've got some progress. I downloaded a mod that adds a basement library to Lakeview. It has the same issue. Along with the main file, it adds a mesh directory, so I got to thinking and deleted the meshes. The library was perfect as far as I could tell.
I applied this knowledge to the Raven Castle and deleted them too, which caused issues, but I started to add them back in a little at a time. Now it's back to functioning, and without the lightning effects. It will take some time, but I'm going to continue adding them back in until I hit the offending set.
Success! I found that Castleclutter and Clutter caused the graphics issues in the castle, Skeletons jacked up the forest, and Armors And Outfits caused the entry way to be black. I hope this information can be useful to you. By the way, that pipe organ is beautiful. I hadn't seen one since the 80's.
As a matter of fact, I am. It was hassle enough to go through 23 mother mesh folders to find those four. I don't have the motivation to go through all the individual mesh files to see which ones are the real culprit. It looks good enough for me now.
That is likely the reason behind this. I don't use the SSE so I have no idea how it behaves on the SSE port. I didn't make the port either nor have I tried making anything for SSE.

On a side note: do you still have plans to make more mods like this, with large worldspaces?
