Expired6978 and TMPhoenix have granted me permission to upload this revised edition of "Creating a Playable Race - The Right Way", a Tutorial originally authored by Expired6978. My revised edition is a Word document that goes into greater detail on each step of the Custom Race creation process.
I wanted to mention here as well as in the Change Log, I made a change to make people aware that they should be sure that they do, in fact, have "GenericRaceController.pex" in their Data / Scripts Directory before beginning this Tutorial.
I hope you enjoy this Tutorial - if so, please endorse me! I am working on a second Tutorial now, one that will compliment this one and go into even greater detail for customization.
You know... thanks for putting this together. HOWEVER... I looked at the beginning of the instructions and you already started straight off without instructing people to install RaceCompatibility anywhere...? Which RaceCompatibility do we need? The one Dawnguard one AND the base RaceCompatibility (if we have Dawnguard) or do Dawnguard users just install the Dawnguard RaceCompatibility through NMM?
I've been wanting to figure out how to get custom races to work, PCEA and all that, but found there wasn't an easy, step-by-step manual. I had high hopes this was it, but just in the beginning alone, it's left me in the dark?
Thanks anyways... what you already have written looks great, but I can't even start at step one?
