I've never been bothered by this background noise, and it's not because I'm deaf or inattentive; I simply have my audio settings adjusted the way I like them and it's not that noticeable.
Thankyou, this stupid noise was doing my head in. Why on earth they tried to make the sound place like a full pub, regardless of occupancy was simply pointless and immersion breaking. You have done a great job, plus there is no esp either. I'd buy you a beer but I can't...have an endorsement instead. Also, great description, keep up the good work, love your style. +1
why people are so stupid and lazy that they are only attracted by the title image, not even reading the description and not understanding the purpose of the mod. how did they find replies made to them in the first place???))
To the maker of this mod...keep modding. But some constructive criticism for you: I never d/l a mod when the author writes up an insulting description that airs his or her dirty laundry. I don't look at mods to find out how much you hate something.
I thought I was crazy hearing that noise all the time. My sanity thanks you. If you don't believe the sound is there just unpack Skyrim - Sounds.bsa and listen to the files in sound\\fx\\amb\\tavern
This sound has been bugging me for a while now. I play with headphones, and usually have the music turned off or very low. Sometimes it's very noticeable, sometimes not at all. It especially bothers me when I can hear it and the tavern is empty.
I was never sure if this was a leftover effect from a mod, or actually part of the vanilla game. Finally I can have some blessed realistic silence, broken only by those ridiculous over-the-top slurping and gulping noises of eating and drinking NPCs.
( now we just need a mod that adds more bard music that actually sounds like it's being played by one dude in a tavern with one instrument. Too many tavern music mods add studio-processed multi-instrument songs, and it sounds super-fake )
Good mod, and a good idea. I like anything that adds to realism or takes away something that seems illogical or out of place and breaks my immersion. Endorsed and well done!
And to all those giving you s#*! about your description: Go piss up a rope.
Sorry, i just wanted to write a funny descrition for a bit of laughing. If you haven't an idea of what i'm talking, prolly you have already a good mod that get rid of it.
Lol... it's an old theatre trope, crowd murmur. With a large number of people on-stage, when you want the *sound* of a large number of people talking without distinctly-identifiable words to distract the audience from the primary actors, you get all the 'extras' and bit-players to say "Watermelon, canteloupe, canteloupe, watermelon" over and over (those words lack "ch" and "s" phonemes, no high-frequency sounds, so they don't stand out). I can appreciate this mod, and I'll download it to check it out... just thought you might like to know why BethSoft put those sounds into the ambient audio of some areas.
Really? I recorded a video in Bannered Mare... To be honest the "mess" was finite in the main room. But in the Winkering Skeever can be heared even in the basement lol. I've still to check Bee And Barb Dead Man's Drink etc etc etc. Who knows if it's even worst? It seems that the logic of this murmuring is "more people, more of it".

These murmuring sounds don't exist in the vanilla game. It's being added by some mod.Edit: Well I still can't hear it in the Bannered Mare even with the volume blasting, but in the Winking Skeever it's indeed very noticeable.
