I'm really looking for something that reduces the amount of stars, something that's less bedazzled and more realistic. Because this just looks ridiculous. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/473282/?Also, I'm not a city dweller. I live in the middle of the desert, and no, that screen shot is not even close to being "realistic". (referring to my own in the link)

If no galaxies are visible either the solar system of TES is floating freely through space (with no galaxy in "reach" ) or it's unrealistic. That we today are not able to see the milky way from many places on earth is a side-effect from modernization of the infrastructure.

This is honestly a more realistic approach to the Night Sky in Skyrim. I added multiple versions to choose from in the file.

      Notes from our own Galaxy:
Our Solar System is inside the disk of the Milky Way, and orbits in one of the spiral arms at 26,000 light years from the center of the galaxy. We can’t see the spiral of the galaxy from our planet because we are inside the disk. Images of the Milky Way’s spiral structure are created from computer modeling based on information from stars as they orbit the galaxy. Voyager might change this soon with new images since its outside of our galaxy.
"Voyager is in interstellar space — the space between the stars."
      - Dr. Ed Stone, Voyager Project Scientist

Much of the Milky Way is invisible to us because we have to look through one of the planes of its disk. There are around 5,000 to 8,000 stars in the Milky Way visible to the human eye from Earth, around 2,500 at a time. In fact, the few thousand stars we can see of the Milky Way with our naked eye are only about 0.000003% of the 200-400 billion stars that are in the Galaxy.

The view we have of the Milky Way is similar to how the Serpent looks ingame. And as someone who's lived in areas with barely any light pollution and thus have seen the Milky Way pretty clearly for myself, removing the Serpent ingame is actually /less/ realistic and immersive than the base game.
