This is the only "two handed sword on hip" mod that works for me. But I would like to move the quiver back to its vanilla position. How do I do that?

I know it's been a while, but is there a way to fix the sheathe? I keep on checking all of my mods to see if anything forces the weapon to be on the back (still searching), and the sheathe just doesn't want to be by the hip. I've reinstalled numerous times with XP32 and all that but it just doesn't want to budge. However whenever I press tab/inventory, it'll magically go right to the hip, but as soon as I get out of it, it'll reappear right on my back. Please help >.<

Hello. If you have installed HDT Equipment (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57408) and have equipped the item "Weapon Sling" that comes with that mod, it will force 2H weapons to hang on your back after you sheathe, even though the animation "sheathes" your weapon at the hip. If that's your case, just unequip Weapon Sling.

It's a good mod. Though, I've found that it doesn't works when I play with a custom race. Is there any way that I can solve this problem?

It should work if you replace your custom race's skeleton. Actually you should do that to begin with (by downloading this mod manually) because if you do that then your character will be the only one with 2h swords on hip, not everyone else. i suppose that depends on individual taste

Anyone can convert this to the xbox one. Honestly it needs more animation mods and this would be a great addition to it.

Anyone know how to convert this to SSE?

    Edit: Nevermind, somebody already did.

Pretty, pretty please make this compatible with SSE. I hate having a fkn 3 m long stick out of my back just because I want to wield a two handed hammer. Why Bethesda thought this would be a realistic and/or cool looking way of sheathing two handed axes and hammers is beyond me.

Agree. One of my must have mods from the old Skyrim. Loved it added so much realism to my games. Please please port it over.

literally a year late but there's actually an animation conversion tool you can use to convert this to SSE on your own in like 3 seconds

Historical correct, two handed sword with lenght over 3.2 feet (great swords 3.9 feet), were worn over the shoulder, you also need 2 animation to be historical correct !! Bastard swords and claymores with less than 3.2 feet, were worn on the hips.

^ this. Swords were almost never worn on the back, if they were too big to carry on the hips then they were carried in the hands, even resting on the shoulder just like in Dark Souls or held in certain other ways for comfort, or hauled in a cart or something. Zweihanders and the like were specialized weaponry, not really general combat weapons like longswords or axes that you'd just carry around all the time.

Swords on the back are slow and difficult to unsheathe, not to mention resheathe.

Actually this guy is correct. Really long swords such as claymores were not sheathed. Instead they were slung over the back with a shoulder strap.

You're correct but not in the way you mean. They were held on the back, but not drawn from it; to take it out you had to take the entire setup off your back, unfasten the hilt (which was wrapped onto the scabbard with cloth to keep the blade from falling if anything happened), pull the sword out, set the scabbard and cloth in your tent, and then you'd be ready to go out on the battlefield.

For carrying a large weapon in a way that you could use normally, you'd just carry it in your hands, resting along the shoulder if you needed to do so.

^correct. The only historical documentation that researchers have been able to find where a soldier actually wore a sword on their back into battle was on horseback. But even then the sword would remain in one's hand after it was drawn. And, I may be wrong on this, but the multiple texts made it sound as if it was not a bastard or greatsword on the cavalry troops but a one handed weapon.

Watch Skallagrim's video regarding carrying zweihanders on the back. It simply didn't happen as it was dangerous. Also, there is plenty of late medieval imagery of mercenaries carrying zweihanders and they are shown carried in a "port-arms" style, such as how you would carry a rifle in one hand at a parade.
