For me (GOG SE version) potion duration is increased but the effect itself doesn't apply. Removing the mod makes the potion effect work again without removing the duration bonus, so with some extra work it's doable.
I've looked at this mod in Tes5Edit and seriously, the uploader seems to be right, those issues posted here couldn't possibly be caused by this mod, it would have to be a extreme incompatibility with another mod, but even that doesn't make any sense.
I've made my own version for USLEEP using this mod, if anyone's interested ^^
It's a long shot, but would you be willing to port this to SE sometime? There's currently no mods that increase the timer of potions bought from vendors and this would fill that gap nicely.
After I used the mod (with cheaper base cost), all merchants offer only 0 gold as purchase price for my things.
Any ideas how this issue can be solved?
Edit (after some time):
I solved the problem on my own – by deleting the mod and the corrupted savegames.
Another caveat: Once you've installed this mod and crafted a new potion it creates dependencies in your game …
I can confirm that. After trying to clean my savegames, I was spared the CTDs, but there were clearly self-rebuilding (and therefore non-removable) dependencies.
All in all, my advice for other users is to try another mod for alchemy duration changes.
Currently i'm considering to use alchemy overhaul mod such as Alchemy and Food Balanced Overhaul by mikogamiten, which changes some potions & poisons' magnitude of effects. Will this mod compatible with such mod? Or instead will it be affected?
Would it be possible to get a version with a max duration? The potions I try to make seems to cause crashes when I try to craft them because of the duration.
I installed this mod two days ago and subsequently have experienced unwanted side effects. The duration extension works as described. However it seems to put the original "Alchemy/Enchanting glitch" from the original unpatched Skyrim back in the game. I was enchanting doing the "enchant Alchemy gear/craft stronger fortify enchanting potion/enchant new gear/repeat" thing and all of a sudden my values shot off the charts to the upside. Such as: one set fort alchemy gear = +67%, next set = +429%, next set = + 2,568%, etc. I used a fort smithing potion crafted with this fort alchemy gear and produced a bow with +250,000 damage, etc. Just for kicks I went out with this bow and engaged some enemies. Started having CTD's, screen freezes, infinite load screens. Reverted to a previous save to salvage my play through.
Another caveat: Once you've installed this mod and crafted a new potion it creates dependencies in your game; i.e. if you uninstall it and try to load a game in which it was installed you'll CTD on launch. That would be okay with me if it worked as described.
I've played 1,700 hrs on a fully patched game on a pc. Never seen this before and can only attribute it to this mod. If the mod author wants to address this here I'd welcome his response. I'm always open to the possibility that I'm wrong and something else is going on, but in this case I can't imagine what it could possibly be other than this mod because there were ZERO other changes to my game other than this.
Hmm, I do the enchant/alchemy loop too without side effects, I think the best fortify enchanting potion I could make was like ~70%, and increasing slowly at like 1% every loop. The best I tried with uncapped skills, enchant/alchemy loop, fully unlocked equipment enchanting, op magic mods, I can only achieve ~6000 damage with bow. So I've been using this mod personally without issues.
Also, I've just deactivated the esp and loaded a game without issue either: I don't understand how this mod can cause crashes, it doesn't add any new forms.
I think there might be something else at play here. I mean, I don't think you can achieve crazy damage like you've posted in vanilla Skyrim without using the restoration loop glitch. Is that the issue? I cannot help you further without you posting your load order at least. Does anyone else experience your issues?
