Great job! Just an Idea: Can you change the standard "Follow Me, I need your help." dialogue to something like "You look pretty tough, want to go adventuring together?" I think it would make the first encounter with this follower more realistic instead of running up to someone and asking them to follow you. Maybe make her more balanced for new characters who find her very early in the game (especially since Riverwood is the first village you go to). I can't wait to see what you add to this follower!
I'm going to change the way you find her compleatly. She won't be in the Sleeping giant but You will met her during a new Questline. At the moment it's just a Test to see if there is some interest in her.
I hope this isn't too early, but could you possibly add patches for other followers (if necessary) so she can have better conversations with NPCs (and modded followers, like Vilja)?
