Make sure you install Dual Sheath Redux first and then test that when you equip 2 vanilla one-hander swords, make sure they both show up in third person to confirm that it's working.
For Version A, when you initially install Dual Sheath Redux you would be required to install a skeleton to support the dual sheath. You must install a skeleton (from XP32 Maximum Skeleton or Custom Skeleton Replacers) that supports sheathing both swords crossed on your back. It's best to test whether the dual sheath is showing up first in-game, by equipping two (vanilla) one-hand swords.
For Version B, it doesn't really matter since you'll be using a separate custom skeleton for your character. Therefore having a different custom skeleton for all the other races you won't be playing, will not affect the character you are playing. VERSION B WILL CONFLICT WITH ANY OTHER MOD THAT CHANGES THE SKELETON, IF ANOTHER MOD ALTERS THE SKELETON FOR ANY REASON SUCH AS CHANGING THE POSITION OF THE QUIVER OR TO CREATE DIFFERENT ANIMATIONS, IT WILL CONFLICT. In other words, you can only use one or the other.
If your right glaive is not showing up properly on your back, most likely it's because you didn't apply the skeleton.
- Well than can you or the other mod author(s) do anything about the skeletons?
The only way to make this sort of compatibility is to create a new set of skeleton from scratch. Unfortunately this is just one of those special individual requests that most modders aren't so willing to invest their time in so you will have to do on your own, if you're willing to learn the ropes of modding and use NifSkope.
- The glaives sheathing on my hip in 1st person.
The 3rd person and 1st person cameras are separate. Dual Sheath Redux does not alter the vanilla 1st person view so in vanilla 1st person, the glaive will still appear to sheath on your hip. To fix this problem I highly recommend a mod like Immersive First Person View. Instead of using the vanilla 1st person view, you be using a modded 3rd person camera that zooms right into your character's face so all animations that happen in 3rd person appears in 1st person. This mod won't replace the vanilla 1st person so you can use both vanilla first person and First Person View's first person.
- Whenever I sheath a sword (that's not a glaive), they all sheathed funny.
That's the point of Version B if you want to have the glaives sheathed like that. At the moment there is no other way of modifying how the glaives appear when sheathed without conflicting with all one-hander swords (vanilla and mods).
- I want to use a custom hair/eyes/etc. for my custom race character.
You can apply this in the Creation Kit, go to the Character dropdown menu and open up a Race window and Hair window. From the hair window, drag and drop the hairs you want to use into the custom race hair section, make sure to save when finished.
So the bad glow bothered me so much I decided to fix it myself. Then I thought sharing my fix might help some people and make them happy too http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/76113/?
When i apply custom skeleton replacer the left glaive is on the ground and when i apply xp32maximum skeleton my left glaive is on my back but it is turned wrong way, it doesnt mirror the right one like it should. What can i do does someone know ?!
I have DSR and XPMSE working correctly but I cant for the life of me figure out why only one warglaive (the right hand) is not in the correct orientation on my back. I've tried reinstalling all the related mods to no avail.
The troubleshooting post did not actually offer any info on what to do... I'm using Version B for males.
If someone could offer some advice i'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
it's either because you try to use the warglaive as replacer for vanilla weapons or because you didn't replaced/used the custom skeleton from this mod. Problem is it means replacing XPMSE no matter what for the race of your character.. and XPMSE does offer a lot. It just doesn't have the thing that makes the warglaive sheath properly. Which is something I'm trying to figure out how to extract that needed part and place it in the XPMSE skeleton and use it only for my character.
Same problem here with the left glaive glow while sheathed - any version I try.
From my 'testing' I concluded it doesn't matter if it's the MH or OH equipped, it's just whichever is equipped in the left hand sheath gets its glow messed up.
On another note one fix I managed to find that helps with unsheathed animation problems is 'Magic-shield arm patch - Non FNIS user' http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26800/?
I use XPSE + FNIS and the FNIS fix actually bugged all Left hand animations during character movement. Hope at least that helps somebody xD
Seems not many people care for a fully functional glaive replica in skyrim
EDIT: Looking at the screenshots I notice the patch creator has exactly the same glow issues on Left hand weapon.
After some fiddling, I got everything working perfectly. The only request I have is finding a way to lower the sheathed glaives while on my back as a male character. I feel the blades are slightly too high and lowering them would be more ascetically pleasing in 3rd person. Thanks again!
i'm using custom races mod and i just copied your skeleton to my custom race's folder...haven't tried it yet I assume its gonna work but i was just wondering....if I use any other one handed weapon will they still be shown upside down like you talked about?
edit: nope, still player gets affected...so if i prefer to play with different swords they look upside-down weird position so i choose to use version A.
btw version A has a effect error at left handed...sword's glow and swords itself are at incorrect positions.
How did you make this mod? :/ I'm trying to turn my own weapon mod compatible with dual sheath redux but there's no tutorial about how to do that anywhere :/
I hate when people never say how they fixed their issue? Can some please tell me how to flip my OH weapon? I have no clue how to work nif files well so preferably a dummies step by step guide.
To fix the upside down issue all you need to do is run the FNIS "for users" tool and at the bottom of the update window you will see a check box that says something about Skeleton Arm fixes. You're gonna wanna hit that.

Did you figure out a fix to get this skeleton's information working within XPMSE?
Some NifSkope wizardry is needed . . .
