something to consider ..the terms iron arrow and steel arrow probably does not mean the shaft of the arrow to be made of those materials but the heads are either cast iron or forged steel the shafts are all wood...other materials would be impractical...at least this would be my best guess. not that all bows and arrows are logically constructed in skyrim ...for instance ebony is an exotic hardwood and cannot therefore be melted down and cast into ingots or arrow heads for that matter...go figure hum??
The bows strings are craftable at the tanning rack, I tried to read the description to how or where, but must've missed each time .. Once you craft a heavy bow or light bow regardless , they're not upgrade-able at the grindstone like others are ?
Seems like its a really cool mod! Gj! Was wondering if it's compatible with nock-to-tip (cause its got that thing with bowstrings as well) Could you enlighten me or should i go for crash test?
I have an idea which I think will be cool. Why not make it so the player is able to make customized bows. What I mean is being able to make Light/Heavy Frames of every material, Make a Light/Heavy string from every material and combine the string and the frame. I thought it would be cool because you could add some "passive effects" like, a leather string will crackle less thus making sneak shots easier, and the other way with other heavier materials
Great mod ! Would like a complete list of the changes on arrows and standard bows. Maybe add a function, so you can change/add the string at a tanning rag.
Hey, great work on the mod! I'll admit I was a bit nervous at first but gave it a shot anyways. Before the mod I felt like I was a clown running through a forest throwing handfulls of pointy sticks at my enemies. After the mod I felt like freaking robbin hood launching lethal missiles at enemies. I'll put it this way, I didn't realize how incredibly stupid the default archery was until I gave this mod a shot. It just makes sense!!! So lets get going on the endorsements and downloads here folks so we can get this thing moving! Cant wait too see what else this guy has up his sleeves.
Thanks! that was a very nice comment! I agree with you completely, archery sucks in vanilla. Thanks for the positive comment I will keep updating this and listen to my bros and derogatory term for a women! (no offense ladies )
This mod is really interesting! Just one question: How are categorized the bows that comes from other mods? Are they affected by the mod or they'll be unchanged? Thank you for your time!
At first I was also confused. I had steel-smithing perk, but I could not make different imperial bows, only the regular ones. But when I got the elven smithing perk I saw that the different strings were utilized there (for elven bows). So my guess is that some bows have been left out of the new system (like the Imperial bow). One thing seems strange though. I can´t craft hunting bows or long bows, only buy/steal/find/loot them. Wouldn´t it be logical to at least be able to craft wooden bows before more advanced ones (I can temper them though)?
