Actually dude, I believe the only thing you could do to make this sword better, is make a more complex mesh pattern. The only textures you could work on are the hilt. Don't veer from your original design. I love the design. If you do some research on blacksmith-ere, you can really get some better ideas of how to make it look real... Very cool sword though. And for a cool personal touch, you could make the hieroglyphs a different color and same with the other etchings. Many modern blacksmiths to that, as well as old ones. Maybe an optional red scheme would be cool. Anyway great weapons, good work. (im not good at modeling but know what makes weapons weapons)
Just noticed this on the newest files list and I have to say, this is really cool but it could use some more love.
The overall design of this weapon is top notch, I really love just how barbaric and brutal the design is (seriously, an axe blade attached to the grip, if that would mess someone's day up, Talos knows what will). Where it falls short, in my opinion, is the texturing. Overall, there appears to be bits where a proper texture is missing. The fur or pointy bits sticking out of the crossguard don't look textured. Also, the weapon itself seems to be missing textures on the smaller faces of the entire weapon.
It honestly reminds me of a Minecraft sword in that regard. It looks like a (very good) drawing, but with thickness. Also, the metal of everything except the grip could use a little work. It honestly looks kind of like the sword was carved from a wooden plank.
Don't get me wrong, this is definitely a good start and I think it has some great potential. Someday you'll be forging Skyforge Steel. But until then, keep working at your craft. I'd love to see this get improved!
Thank you for the comment. I normally deal with a job I'm doing as a hobby that accounting and 3d specialty to stadiums. When you look at my page, you see the stadiums and I was about to post maybe you might like at lest I published. It actually used to be 6 years ago I had a sword that I drew and I didn't see him if I found something that was super.
