This utility will remain as it is for the foreseeable future, and is largely unsupported. At some point, it may be recoded and improved, but until then, what it is is what you get.
- The textures provided work with the default CBBE textures only. You can use them with others, but it will probably look bad. - Males and anything but the default CBBE textures are not supported, unless someone else has done it. - The majority of retextures (for females at least) should already be seamless. If SG/Mature/whatever is not seamless, make sure you're using the full face/body retexture. If you are, ask the mod author to fix the seams. Also note that things like EEO may cause neckseams with the elves. - If you use MO/MO2/whatever and have issues, one user said putting the Texblend files directly into /data worked. - No, this will not work with FO4/SSE textures.
Is TexBlend totally non-functional when used with Skyrim Special Edition? I've tried just about everything and I can't get TexBlend nor TexBlendLite to run properly. I've tried f*#@ing with everything in the config file but I get the same errors.
TexBlendLite gives the error "Failed to open colour source"
TexBlend gives the error "Failed to open color mod image"
Really frustrating, has me tearing my hair out. I can't live with the neck seam.
Is some other safe and tested mod as alternative for TexBlend? I have installed "Mature skin texture and body for UNP(B) 7BASE CBBE Vanilla" but indeed doesn't work it :/ I looking for something simply with support textures because "Mod Organizer" is too advanced/expanded for me ;] It's a pity that last update was in 2013 year when amazing body replacements are making. Please check my uploaded images with issues :)
TexBlend is the only utility of its kind. If you want to blend files in SSE, you need to use Photoshop or Paint.NET. Or, as I said in my previous comment, use a full body/face retexture, so you wont need to blend any files at all.
im using a normal race but still have the neck seem and after installing the tex blender and trying to run it all it says is automatic neck seem fix complete but in game the seem is still there
Wondering if anyone can help... I've successfully installed the mod fine and can create blends as per the instructions below. But once it's generated, how do I actually apply the blend to the body in-game? From what I can tell by reading FAQs is that it should apply once I hit 'Blend Images' but I can't seem to get it to work...
1) At "Set:" select "Body and Feet". 2) At "Type:" select "Normal". 3) Select what you want to blend from the middle list. 4) Click on "Preview". 5) Click on "Blend Images". 6) Hit "OK" when completed.
It is automatically applied, just as the visual guide explains. 1. It only works for the default directory. Not for custom races etc. You would have to move the files manually before/after blending. 2. It can not fix issues that have nothing to do with the textures e.g. 'dark head bug'.
Not using a custom race but have installed to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data' and have adjusted the Config.xml accordingly which allows me to save the files fine. It just doesn't appear to be adding it to the game for some reason? Is there a way to apply the blends manually?
If the files are saving and you aren't getting any errors, then the blends are being applied. If you still have issues then either a) you're not blending non-default CBBE textures to default CBBE textures, or b) it's the dark head bug. (Oh, and although that may have just been an example, you'd have to blend all three files, not just the normal map. Just in case.)
I have had some success with TexBlend, but the current follower I am trying to work on is using Fair Skin. I know this mod only works on default CBBE textures and doesn't supply alternate HeadNeckBlend files. I did find in the UNP Texture Blender a version that supports Fair Skin. It seemed to work (better than using TexBlend's default HeadNeckBlend files), but something still isn't quite right.
Is there a difference between CBBE and UNP that would require separate CBBE Fair Skin NeckBlend files? If so, anyone know of a set anywhere?
They have different UV maps. But, the neck should line up pretty much exactly, to ensure they're compatible with vanilla head textures.
If you're using Fair Skin for face and body, then there shouldn't be a neckseam at all. If there is one, then it's caused by something TexBlend can't fix.
It does say in the 'How to use TexBlend' images...but, textures/actors/character/female. I don't know what Bijin's mod does other than makeover female NPCs ('cause...I have no interest in female characters other than my PC), but if it has the textures elsewhere, you'll have to work it out yourself.
You should also note what is in my sticky, and that if your issue is the dark-head bug, TexBlend can not fix it.
I downloaded SG Textures through MO, then added the optional and required files manually. Which blends do you use? There are lots of body options. I've been trying to get rid of the fabled Neck Seam. I'm playing as a Bosmer, which seems to make things more difficult since there is no CBBE body for Wood Elves.
From Ozef below:
For those Using MO - Install TexBlender anywhere you want - Go to texblend installation folder / open Config.xml - Uncomment <TexOutputPath> and put MO overwrite folder path like C:\Mod Organizer\overwrite\ DON'T Forget the f***ing last anti-slash - Save Config.xml - Add the TexBlend.exe in MO executable - Launch via MO and your good to Go. This way the modified files should go to your overwrite folder instead of directly modifing the original texture
Thanks. This was really annoying. Does anyone get a completely blocky-black-effect on the entire body after they've used this? And is there a fix other than just a simple reinstall of textures, which i am now 17 times having to do
Oh Dear Lord can someone help me. i was just doing fine i installed caliente body stuff and demoniac body after it everything was good and i didnt have any neck thing problem but i dont know why i got stupid and i used my Texblend Lite tool in my Caliente tools and then when i went back to game i have this stupid Neck problem on my character its like My character has a different Neck color compared to her body and face can someone please help me fix this ( sorry for my bad english )

For SSE, use a full body and face texture mod.

Thanks for commenting back, much appreciated!
