21 August 2014 UPDATE: Version 1.3 of the mod has been released. Darrow now is compatible with the Immersive College of Winterhold mod and the problem with his merchant gold not showing up has been fixed. Due to real life stuff going on I don't have time to monitor the page right now so I'm leaving the comments locked for the time being. I added Darrow to SSE with minimal effort. I had MO2 unpack the BSA (Oldrim BSAs will crash SSE before it starts) and I sent the mod through Cathedral Asset Optimizer with all necessary optimizations, and just added him to my game. Besides his armor going insane when I entered his laboratory, I fixed that by forcing a new outfit on him and literally everything is working great. If it makes you feel better do all that I did and also save as Form44 with the creation kit. I have never had issues with form43 mods in SSE myself and have many in my 570 save playthrough so I won't bother but I can already see the doomsayers screaming the end of the world if I don't at least recommend it.
This is a very underrated follower in my opinion. He's useful, looks good and the voice acting is amazing. I've used him off and on throughout my various modlists and have never forgotten him throughout the years. Really wished he could have had some additional work done to him since his last release to bring him up to standard with a few of the other iconic voiced follower mods. Just a little more work and I could have seen him as being one of the greats.
That said, thanks for making this awesome mod. Its 2022 and your mod is still used by someone.
I know it's 2021 but if by any chnce anyone knows how to fix this: I cannot dismiss him! I say 'I think we should part ways' he sais the 'ill be inmy study' line but he keeps following! I tried loading an older save but it's the same. Would the 'recycleactor' console command help here or would it just break it even more?
Hey, did you by any chance install any other custom voiced followers after you installed the Darrow mod? Any other mod that changes the vanilla dialog follower quest will mess up Darrow's mod. (This is one of the problems I need to fix on the mod.) If you did not install any mods that is overwriting the quest, I would uninstall Darrow's mod and attempt to find a save before you installed it. I hope that helps.
This mod was my favourite follower mod back in the days when all the fancy editions of skyrim didnt exist. Now iam setting up a Skyrim Special Edition installment after years and I was really sad that I couldnt find any ports of this mod to SE, migh tbe because he doesnt have the hugh advantages thatsome other follower mods have(namely breasts) or might it be because no permission to port was given? nevertheless, someone here knows about a port or did it himself? Please port this to se!
