If you would rather have a version that has separate taxes for each hold, take a look at Taxes of the Nine Holds, made by thesniperdevil with Simple Taxes as the basis.
Hello! I like the idea of taxing my properties but I also like the idea of getting taxed in separatly in each hold. So I'm thinking of using both your mod AND the Taxes of the Nine Holds. I don't think there would be any problems with that but because you said that the Taxes of the Nine Holds used your mod as a basis I have to ask. Will there be any problems if I use both or is it ok? Thanks in advance!
There won't be - no. Unless he used the same prefixes and record IDs as my mod but I don't think he did.
You'll have an overall property tax and hold tax in this case. I'm not entirely sure they'll work together, as I haven't dug into his mod, but they should, yeah.
Version 3.5 has been released, with follower support
3.5 has added follower support, though it's currently manual only.
Note: The courier might not always be punctual. The next cycle for tax days only starts after they've collected your taxes though, so you won't have any issues with that.
Future Plans:
Version 4.0 will be a big update, but it remains to be seen when it will come, if at all. I've been really busy IRL and with other modding projects, and Simple Taxes isn't a huge priority. I'll fix any bugs, but other than that, no new features until I feel like getting around to it. So here are the features I'll add next update:
- Tell the courier to wait and he will stay where he is and you can them activate him to give him taxes. He will only wait x amount of time before going. - Option where taxes are based on percentage (changeable percentage) - Option to lock you out of your house if you reach a certain debt threshold - Button to check your current stats (houses, horses, etc. owned) in the MCM. - Auto checking for follower count - Income tax
Requests:
I don't have time to take any requests now, or respond to all your comments, so sorry for that. Most likely, the features for version 4.0 will be the last for some time.
Nice mod but I think I found a bug. I had already bought Breezehome when I installed this. It didn't seem like I was getting taxed. So I used the mod compatibility option to add a house and then it seemed to work fine ( the money value was exactly what I set it as )
Very strange. Quick question, though I'm not sure if you could remember it - before you installed the mod, under your Stats in the menu, was Houses Owned at 1? This is a vanilla game regulated value and used by Simple Taxes, thus counting the houses shouldn't be an issue of ST.
Anyway, it's not a big deal Just needed to add a house through a menu. No hassle at all. But just letting you know.
EDIT: I just checked my house count in stats and it was 4. So I waited a week ( my pay tax time ) and got taxed for 4 houses. So I reduced the count by 3. So it seems to be working fine now. I'm not sure what the problem was at the start.
Unfortunately this mod doesn't work for me. It downloaded fine with NMM and I was able to access the MCM in game and change my configurations for the mod no problem. When I opened the game I got the message saying I have to pay taxes, and I got and read the guidebook, so the mod is correctly installed.
However, I never got taxed. I set my interval to 24 hours, and it's been many many in game days and still no tax. I have immersive taxing turned off, and I tried it with it on too - no luck. Taxes of the nine holds has the same problem.
I deleted the mod. If you have a fix, I will re download. Thanks.
I've found no one else with an issue such as this yet, and it's been quite some time since the last update was out. I don't have time to check this out right now, but the courier will come onLocationChange and the technical taxing should just be happening. You have to wait the first interval for taxes even after you change it, so if it was at a week before or something then it will be a week for the first one and then change to what you have. Are you sure it's not that?
Hi, I've just discovered this mod from some youtuber. I don't want to sound like an ass or anything, I want to know, what's the point of paying taxes other than for the sake of roleplay?
I mean, can it at least be reflected in some way that the hold improves because of the dragonborn/thane/legendary companion/archmage/ hand of sithis/master thief etc. etc. is the latest contributor to the hold? I mean, it's civil war, maybe the guards started having gears with better stats or more patrols or generic NPCs sweeping the ground or something? Like, just to see the world actually affected by the player, y'know? Like, if someone played the civil war quest, some places are stuck with damages (Whiterun), will Whiterun be repaired if you keep paying the taxes? Since this is medieval-fantasy renaissance fantasy world we're talking about. Shouldn't that mean our properties will be seized & we're forced to become a nomad & join banditry for not paying taxes for too much & too long?
I've read the sticky, I know you have no time to reply anymore which is fine. I'm just interested in a taxing mod, I just didn't see any that interests me yet.
can't get this to work idk why....n my guide book in the game is all in square block letters can't even be read...maybe a load order...or maybe taxe of the nine conflicting? someone knows??
This mod is great, I was worried the IRS was going to come for me because of all the gold I managed to accumulate. Now even in my video games I can't escape taxes. 10/10
I would love to see you add taxes for chickens, cows, servants/employees, and maybe allow for a percentage of the value of the houses to adjust the taxes.
Hello! I'd really like to try this mod but I did some tests and something works wrong. I don't get any bounty when I refuse to pay or when I just don't have the money for it. I know the system of debts, but there even when I choose several times the option to pay with 0 gold they never seems to claim their money.
I use MO2, and I tested it with no other mods except SKSE, SKUI, Alternate Start and of course Simple Taxes, and the result is the same.

If you've got any questions about the process, ask in the above thread.
