12/21/14 - iNeed patch added for the Hearthfire version of Farm Animals. This should fix the CTD problem people were having with the previous iNeed patch that lacked Hearthfire compatibility.
iNeed Patch added. This patch makes Farm Animals compatible with the popular iNeed mod, and should be loaded after Farm Animals and iNeed.
Users should be aware that if they are using more than one iNeed patch (for other mods), then only the one that comes last in their load order will be operational.
FormID lists (which every iNeed patch utilizes) are not merged in runtime and only the last one wins (last loaded esp). If you want to combine 2 or more iNeed patches, then you'll need to merge the files. That requires a bit of knowledge in both TES5Edit and merge script.
Version 1.7.1 Hearthfire Edition: Just as the name says, this version adds compatibility with the Hearthfire DLC. Obviously, you must have Hearthfire installed, or you will get a CTD. Bash patch is supported as well.
Delete the old esp if you are using the Hearthfire version.
Version 1.7.1 Update:
The purple goat and sheep problem is finally fixed. It seems the esp had the skin texture assigned to the wrong slot (environmental map slot). The meshes were correct, but the esp overrides them. It is now referencing the proper position, so the textures should look normal now.
Version 1.7 Update:
The sounds were't playing properly because the esp had the incorrect folder path names. This version corrects that issue, so all the animal sounds should play correctly now. Sorry that I didn't catch this in the prior update.
Version 1.6.1 Update:
I had made some minor name changes to a few textures with the prior version, but mistakenly included the old textures too. This update simply removes those duplicate textures. All the fixes remain intact.
Version 1.6 Update:
Since ianjospeh1986 is still away, I decided to address some of the issues people were having with the mod. Please see the description page for the changes. I read the comments here and tried to fix the things people highlighted.
Cheers, Gamwich
Edit: I don't know why the mod isn't showing version 1.6 as the latest version.... I checked the right box when I uploaded the file. Odd.
One thing I suggest is having captures of Skytest full version vs Skytest full version + Farm animals. That way Skytest users get an idea of the new stuff they are getting since hidelton got you covered in the video to show the difference between this mod and vanilla. It would be useful for the users and probably you'll get more attention too. Cheers and keep up the good work!
you are right. i will work on something in the week and upload it. the thing is. that skytest barely adds farm animals. they are all added in the database. but very very few are actually placed in the game. but you are right. i should make em know. thanks a lot for stopping by vegaswanderer. have a great day
I love this mod! Are there any plans for making it compatible with Realistic Needs & Diseases and Hunterborn? (What can I say? I love the immersive style.)

I installed and endorsed! Looks great. The only strange thing is having 2 different kinds of cows now, fuzzy vanilla & modded. I'm keeping it in my load order. The only thing I'd like to see fixed would be the seam on the cows here:
If that could be fixed sometime in the future, it would make it so much better.
There isn't a true fix for it, since the mesh wrap ends at that point. I did make the texture blend better, but the seam is still there. The only way to "fix" it completely, would be to create a new mesh.... not my area of expertise, sorry.
Its the big mods like Requiem, sky-re ETaC, CWO, etc that get all of the praise, but to me its always been the little mods like this that make the game. Farm animals, Hold border banners, point the way, bury the dead, MYIYH etc. Its the details that cause you to forget youre playing a virtual world. Bravo. Keep up the good work.
I would also like to be able to buy these for my farm. As a concept, would it be diffucult to copy and modify the "buy a cow" option for your hearthfire home? Seems like an easy enough method (i know nothing about modding).
I would love to have this but it interferes with eating animations given the food textures and meshes. Is there a way to only add the animal textures and meshes and exclude the food overhaul or do I have to manually separate them? Thanks.
Was disappointed to find for Skyrim SE, there aren't really any mods to add just farm animals, they all seem to add many other random animals. So glad I decided to download this and see if it worked in SE, and it does!
Do the animals respawn? I just killed the sheep at Half-Moon Mill and didn't get caught. However, while I'm glad there's no bounty, I would be very sad if there were never sheep at Half-Moon Mill again.
Speaking of which, do you have an ID list for console commands?
Easy to convert. I even asked the author for permission to upload it to SE. He never responded tho he read the pm from me. But that is a long time ago now. So convert it and use it for your own game. It is a very nice mod.
I know the mod is texture light because it's small in mb, but is it polygon high? Because sometimes my screen goes all the way up in places where this animals lie, like if the video memory rans out. For example, in honeybew mead. Could it be this mod?
No, it is not polygon high. From what I understand the author has made it universal so that it should work regardless of your system specs. If you have a lot of things in a small space, that can upset the engine and cause the memory to run out.
I know I'm almost six years late to the party, but if anyone with a little more modding experience than me could help I'd appreciate it. This mod technically runs, but all the new animals are completely invisible. They still have correct sounds and collisions, and I can still kill them, but I cannot see them. I've heard that this might be a memory issue, but this seems like a relatively small mod and I'm not running anything that grinds the game to a halt. If anyone could help me fix this weird issue, I'd greatly appreciate it :)
Do you have Skytest installed? I know that mod makes certain mudcrabs invisible. Never had an issue with other animals. Then again, that mod already adds in farm animals, so there's no point in using the two side by side (unless maybe you just want the textures for pigs from this mod, and don't know how to re-purpose them yourself).
hi I have use this mod for a while but I havent use it with skytest animals, so I want to ask that will this mod compatible with the skytest? can any one help me with this please?
This is a great mod but my only complaints are that the chicks and the roosters are far too loud imo. All the other animals seem to be at a normal volume but the chicks and roosters (especially the chicks) are ear piercing and deafening. Also I wish the creator could make it so that the farm owners actually care if these animals are killed by me. If you kill an original animal from the game and a farm/house owner sees you do it (or hears you do it) you'll get a bounty and they'll say "hey that's a valuable animal" or something like that. I shouldn't be able to kill these animals and get away it.
