Wow, never noticed this patch before. Is it still viable?

Pretty sure it still does what it says. I haven't checked it in a while, but there were never any issues reported.

Is this compatible with the latest version of Stealth Skills Rebalanced?

It should work just fine according to her patch notes, if there are any oddities just let me know.

Does this work with the latest SPERG update?

    Thanks

This was released over a year after the latest SPERG update, so yes, it would work.

Great patch, really enjoying finally being able to try SSR with SPERG!

One question, though--according to the SSR page, taking the Camo perk should result in getting a ring to manually adjust its setting (say, to add modded-in armor as "dark"). When I take that perk with your mod, I don't get that ring. It is possible I have a mod conflict, but I was wondering if you could either check the script to add the ring or add a recipe to the forge where I could forge the ring for an iron ingot if I have taken the Camo perk.

Sorry for the late reply, but I don't think it's from my patch. Her original mod would sometimes produce that error if I'm not mistaken, you can also just console yourself the ring. Good luck!

I was really happy to find this patch, so thank you for taking the time to whip it up.

You asked to notify you of irregularities, and therefore I bring this to your attention:

I am using the latest SPERG and SSR versions (4.0 and 1.4 respectively) plus your patch, loaded in the order you suggested, and when I input the console command (as Krypt suggests) player.getav movementnoisemult, I am getting a number way outside of the norm. As Krypt states, the value returned should be 1.0 on a character with no bonus to muffle (no perks have been taken). I have confirmed that when the second auto perk is not taken, my value is 1.0.

However, as soon as I get the second auto perk (muffle), my value jumps to -5.xx. A value of 0 is actually 100% muffle, and anything negative, as Krypt states, is over 100% muffle. SSR should give a value of .75 for the first rank of muffle, and .50 when both ranks are taken.

I hope you can see what I mean. Somehow, with the two mods together and the patch, muffle is getting a large silencing bonus that I don't think you intended with the patch (I think you were leaning more towards the SSR side of stealth, right?)

Anyway, I've been pouring over SPERG, SSR and your patch in TES5edit, and I am completely lost in trying to figure out how to adjust values to make muffle not so OP.

So, if you are still around, I hope you can take another look at this issue!

    Thanks~~

Thanks for the input, I'll see if I can reproduce it. Was this a new save or an existing save?

Found the error, thanks so much for reporting it. Uploading the fix now. It was an incorrect Actor Value condition check, could have made your movementnoisemult all sorts of weird values. Just FYI, I have it scaling so that it maxes at 55 sneak so @55 you should see 0.5 with LA and 0.7 with HA. Between 25-55 it scales until this max.

Hmmm, I'm still seeing the same value of -5.30 for my movementnoisemult value. Here's what I did, and give you some more information about my setup.

I reverted back to a save where I had just SPERG installed, and then installed SSR and your patch, following your instructions of refunding perks, etc. Upon manually adding all the perks back, I still get the -5.30 value when adding the muffle autoperk in SPERG's tree. This was after SSR ran it's beginning script of stripping me, etc. Until I choose that perk, my value is still at 1.0

Here's my load order for everything following SSR and your patch:

Is there some way to find out exactly where the -5.30 value is coming from?

Hmm, that is a strange value. Could you test it on a clean save? Just console your sneak skill up? Maybe the install procedures are wrong for an existing SPERG save. I didn't have a save to test it against. I don't think combat evolved should interfere though. I'll run some other tests too.

Ya, there are quite a few factors that could be influencing this. I haven't tried it on a new game though. I did end up consoling it to an appropriate level with player.setav movementnoisemult 7.0. This set it to a solid 0.7 which I feel is enough for my SPERG hardcore playthrough. I'm not sure if I need to monitor that setting manually in the future. I don't have any muffle equipment to test on it right now.

Right about Combat Evolved though, it doesn't do anything to the muffle spell or perk.

Very strange, I think the install for an existing SPERG save may be more complicated. Might have to refund, save, then install SSR and my patch, then add the perks. Changing perk trees mid game trends to be problematic. The bug I corrected only subtracted .15 at and incorrect time. Thanks for the additional information, I didn't see anything that should cause conflicts off the top of my head.

Good point. It's hard to say right now if this is just a problem with my personal setup, or if it would be a universal problem for everyone, which would suggest that SSR and your patch should be activated on a new game due to this mysterious problem with the muffle perk.

On the other hand, if I had decided to deactivate the perk trees in SPERG, this would have probably never come up. But I just wanted to stay consistent with the perk menu. :\

Thanks again for taking a look~~

This looks very interesting to me. I use SPERG and wanted to use SSR but since they overlapped I didn't use SSR due to incompatibility. I have this added to my track list and will try it out later tonight when I get a chance.

Took me a few hours to get to try this out and for the most part it seems to be working just fine however there is a weird tiny bug I found. I use the armor mod Arise - Black Sacrament and if I am wearing the gloves from that set my lockpicking skill drops from 41 down to 1 and the 1 is coloured red. I tried moving the armor mods esp file to above sperg, ssr and your mod and rebuilt my bash patch to see if it fixed it but it did not. If I remove the gloves my lockpicking skill goes back to 41. The enchant on the gloves you get from doing the quest is "Double Sneak Attack Damage With Any Weapon. Not really sure why this would cause the lockpick skill to drop though. the only armor sets I have with any enchants are the Black Sacrament set and the Thieves Guild set so I can't really test any others out yet.

I really hope this is something easily fixed, I like the Black Sacrament armor

In SSR you receive a penalty for wearing gloves while lockpicking, the Nimble Fingers perk removes that penalty
