    Sticky
11/25/14 - Version 1.4 - I reworked the skyrimcloudsheet01.dds texture. This is the texture that's responsible for the clouds on the mountaintops. It's also the texture used exclusively to make volumetric clouds for mods like Clouds for Skyrim.

The cloud sheet is a large texture, since it's a long strip of clouds, but it's fairly narrow (even at the high-resolution pack size - 512x4096). I added more detail and variation into the texture, and for the 2K version, I doubled the size of the texture.

11/13/14 - Version 1.3 - This version adds some minor enhancements, as well as eliminates (hopefully) all remaining seams from the diffuse and alpha layers. It also adds a 2K option for people with higher end rigs, or people who play at higher resolutions, where pixelation would be more of an issue.

8/2/14 - Version 1.2 - While testing another mod, I noticed some minor seams in the "storm" cloud texture. This update removes the seams from the alpha. Just this one texture was updated.

7/29/14 - Version 1.1 - This update revises one of the lower cloud textures, and refines the alpha masks. Not an major overhaul, but subtle improvements.

7/27/14 - Ethereal Clouds is out of Beta stage..... version 1.0 is now available for download. It has across the board tweaking of the textures for general release. There should be less pixelation now when viewed up close. Thanks everyone for their input and screenshots. I really appreciate the valuable feedback.

    Cheers,
    Gamwich

P.S. Please spam the gallery with screenshots.... that's the best way for people to see how these cloud textures look under different lighting conditions.

I can't optimize those textures with ordenador, any ideas why?

Because they don't need to be? I always use the optimal compression to keep the file sizes as small as I can for a give given resolution.

Very nice clouds. Just a heads up for those thinking about trying this, the 1K version seems perfectly adequate to me, and I'm playing at 1920x1080.

I realize this is an old post, but since it's on the first page of comments I will say thanks and add my endorsement for the 1k textures as well. I definitely don't have a powerful machine either.

Very welcome mod, I really enjoy what it adds to the game.

When it comes to the mountain clouds, i guess this and the Obsidian one pretty much do the same thing? Just choose one or the other? Thank you.

I can't seem to get the textures to show in game. Climates of Tamriel V seems to take priority and I have zero clue how to fix this. And also I just want to say I absolutely love all your works, they are fantastic each and everyone.

CoT adds a bunch of new cloud textures to the game, while my cloud textures are just vanilla replacers. My mod isn't really designed with CoT in mind.

I downloaded and installed the 2k version, but the clouds look pixelated :(
I have 4k tv/monitor, the screen and game resolution at 3840x2160, but i think that is not the problem, i may use some 4k textures but lots of 2k textures too, but they are not like this.
Any help would be appreciated. :)

The clouds look fine to me. Not sure what your complaint is quite frankly. I see some banding around your sunglare, but my mod doesn't contain that texture.

If you open the images in new tabs and zoom, you will see better.
The sunglare its not my mod but it looks fine, the clouds on the other hand, they look low res in front of everything else.
I don't know, maybe you made them to look like that, then ok, but if its an issue, i would like a little help to solve this.
What i can say from what mods i use, Skyrim Ultimate Modding Guide - Graphics, i did chose some of the Green FPS mods.
I will provide a list of all mods i use after the reinstallation i do.

Sorry, but I don't troubleshoot people's games, I just make textures. The cloud textures don't look low-res normally. I have no idea what the cause of your issue might be.

At 3840x2160, everything would be pixelated. This is like 2x Full HD. Too much for Skyrim.

I like this mod, I always use it but it occured to me as funny in the description of the mod in the file section, it reads - lore friendly... how are clouds lore friendly, I make no complaints just asking, it just caught me as something odd and funny, I mean they are clouds, they no more influence history or events than a falling leaf.

I require no reply, you can even delete this post as nonsense

Thank you for your work... endorsed

Yes, it is amusing to think of clouds as lore-friendly.

I've used the term as a way of saying that the design of the clouds remain consistent with the original game textures. Some cloud retextures deviate quite a bit from the Bethesda cloud design, while mine do not. I made them more detailed, but still consistent with the original appearance.
