---------------
1. Introduction
---------------

I think it is strange that many of the swords in Skyrim do not have sheaths. Most of the one-handed swords do, but not all of them. None of the Greatswords have sheaths either. Big swords and warhammers seem to magically float on your back, as if some giant magnet were imbedded in your spine. In an effort to help fix this oddity, I have added scabbards to some of the Greatswords.

2. Description
--------------

The Dwarven, Ebony, Orcish, Elven, and Steel Greatswords have full scabbards, and the Glass, Iron, Silver, Draugr, and Nord Hero Greatswords have a small leather piece holding them in place.

The full sheaths were made from their one-handed counterpart's sheath. For example: The Ebony Greatsword's sheath was made by modifying the Ebony Sword's sheath and so forth. I was able to use the Iron Sword's Leather sheath for the Iron Greatsword, Silver Greatsword, Draugr Greatsword, and Nord Hero Greatsword. It fit all of them fairly well.

Unfortunately, the Daedric Sword didn't have a sheath for me to work with. The one-handed Daedric Sword only has a little ring that fits around the handle to clp the weapon to your side, and it will not work for the Greatsword on your back.

3. Installation
---------------

Extract the contents of this archive using Winrar. If you want to use the complete mod, copy the Meshes folder and paste it inside the Skyrim\Data folder If you have the Steam version of Skyrim the default installation directory should be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data" for 64-bit operating systems or "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data" for 32-bit operating systems. Substitute "C:\" for the appropriate drive letter; E:\, F:\, G:\, etc. if necessary.

If you only want to use some of the Greatsword Scabbards, you can simply open the exracted Meshes folder and delete the ones you don't want to use before you copy the Meshes folder into the Skyrim\Data folder.

-----------------
4. Uninstallation
-----------------

Don't like it? Want it to go back to the way it used to be? Fear not. . .

Simply delete these files listed below and the original unaltered Greatswords which are safely stored in the "Skyrim - Meshes.bsa" will be restored. Your Saved Game files will be unaffected.

NOTE: Please delete the individual ". . .nif" files rather than the entire folder that contains them. Otherwise you may delete more than you wanted to by accident.

5. Bugs/Glitches
----------------

Fixed in version 1.4: For some reason, all the Greatswords orientations in the inventory menu had changed. When a Greatsword was highlighted, it would point straight up, and not at an angle. Problem is now solved and all the Greatswords should display correctly.

If you find any serious problems please post a (hopefully polite and grammatically correct) comment on the mod's page and I'll see if I can help.

It's not really a glitch, just a statement of the obvious: Be prepared to experience clipping issues with various clothes, armor, hoods, hats, hair, etc.
(Possibly genitals too depending on which mods you have installed)

Considering that the Greatswords already clip with several clothes and armor in the Vanilla game, it is unavoidable. Deal with it!

The Greatsword scabbards were created by altering existing Bethesda meshes and textures mostly with Nifskope and a few brief, but necessary adjustments in Blender.

Feel free to use or modify any and all parts of this mod for your own Skyrim mods. Permission is not required. Credit is always appreciated.

Thanks to Abakus for the "Muramasa two-handed katana with scabbard" mod which inspired me to make sheaths for the Greatswords.

Thanks to the creators of Nifskope and Blender.

Thanks to Bethesda.
