    Update February 27, 2015

I'm still not quite happy with how this mod works, so until I think of new things to try this mod has been put on the back burner while I work on other stuff.

I suspect I'm going to have to edit the chicken's behavior files somehow...

Finally switched over to SE and began the process of hunting down my most memorable mods but was disappointed that this was lost. Then I came here and read the comment below about saving the file in CK SSE..

Just chased a chicken into the river in Riverwood, my SSE is now closer to complete. Cheers, Wiseman.

It doesn't really work for me. Updated and ported to SSE. I was testing it out before merging it and it just doesn't work. No Evasive Chickens.

just thought I'd let ya know a straight up CK conversion makes it compatible for SSE as well - was missing this little tweak from my LE experiences!

I was noticing some odd behavior when trying to use the wait command at a town, it kept bumping me out. But once I disabled this mod, I could wait again. I believe the chickens are counting as an enemy encounter.

      Interesting. I'll look into it.

If the chickens do prevent waiting when they're fleeing, that means the other creatures that flee when approached, such as rabbits, foxes and deer would also prevent waiting. That would account for the occasional times waiting doesn't work in the wilderness even though no enemies can be found.

It's not the chickens. I just went into an empty interior, spawned a dozen chickens through the console, and was able to wait just fine while they were running all over the place.

The mysterious thing preventing waiting remains mysterious for now.

kinda wondering about this and BoS. since BOS birds are mainly based on the chicken model, AI, movement ect...would this mod work on BOS birds? because only reason i don't use bos anymore is the way the birds never run. if this mod made 'em run, i'd use bos

also, does the chicken being trampled count as murder like in vanilla skyrim?

Great mod! The chickens act more like actual chickens, and I don't get stuck on them anymore. So that's two minor frustrations taken care of.
I have noticed some small glitches since I installed this mod, nothing gamebreaking or causing a problem, mostly pretty funny. It seems to be this mod, or possibly this mod interacting in an odd way with another mod, I haven;t narrowed it down yet. But occasionally a chicken will become aggressive to me, sometimes at quite a distance. The aggressive chicken can't attack in any way, and I don't get a bounty for killing it, and seeing the NPCs fleeing an angry chicken while yelling "Help! Somebody do something!" is very entertaining. So on the whole, that glitch is more positive than negative I think.
Also, after a dragon attack in Morthal, one of the chickens only traveled by sliding across the ground on it's side for a day.

ok, im gonna bet you have a buncha critter mods, from what I think ive learned from reading, reading and reading. Did I mention reading? Mod page after mod page. I beleive it was SkyTESTs mod page that explained the floating and or skating critters effect. It's caused by 2 mods trying to animate the same character. Youll get things like saber cats attacking you although thier animations arent moving but theyll skate right after you. It is quite a funny effect. I suggest checking your mods and how theyre playing together.

That one chicken was the only one that slid or had a broken animation. Really the only repeated glitch that I'm quite sure is related to this mod is the rare aggressive chicken, and it's too amusing for me to put in the effort of finding out exactly what triggers it.

Mods like this is what makes Skyrim great. Simple but immersive. I installed this mod with "Varied Chickens". Love how they act like real chickens and run away..watched a wolf chase one down. He really had to earn his dinner.

I am getting CTDs consistently and immediately after bumping into or "trampling" one of your wonderful and evasive fowl. When I remove evasive chickens, no CTDs, reinsert, identical CTDs. Conflict?

Testing done in Riverwood, in front of the Blacksmith, Riverwood Trader and Sleeping Giant. I currently run 725 mods, 250 (already Bashed) esps.
Other bird mods: BoS B&F and Steve40's Birds all three with Phinix /Ruhadre's patches, rsp.
I also run Animalica, Skytest, and a few others all patched to play together & quite stable.

I'd love to see an update :-)
