Just install and open with creation kit and save. It is just one .esp file.

I was wondering if maybe you could make a patch/optional file were the rain catcher can be used to fill my empty bottles in the basic needs and dieseses mod so It would have a purpose

    WOW

I'm no modder but I have been wondering when someone would repair this location and make it a home. This is awesome! I believe I'll test it out. I will say at one time I RPed the location was a ruined family home for one of my characters. She came home to find it destroyed. This is like a chance to rebuild it for her.

    Thank you.

      Aww! That is so nice!
I had been really wondering also! And I felt the need to do it as I thought it got alittle annoying seeing this broken home all the time, so I just fixed it up! I'm so glad it goes with your characters story! So ironic, thank youu!

In my RP my character ran away from home to see the world... when she returned she found it burned down and in its current state. naturally she blamed the bandits at the nearby fort and slaughtered them all. So this is like I said, a great way for her to rebuild her family home. What was really sad (and perfectly ironic) is when she returned home for the first time and found it in ruins, the chest under the floor contained a girl's dress and a doll. She carries those everywhere with her now.

The only thing I am wondering about. Do I need o key to the house? I would like be able to buy the house ingame. Free houses don't feel right. Maybe you could inherit it?

Overall really nice house mod. The inside isn't overstocked with beds and mannequins and weapon racks, as a small farmhouse should be. I really like the whole cattle farm idea too, glad something like this was made and done so well!

Very cool house mod! My only 2c would be add an enchanting table (either extra or replace the alchemy lab for those who dont care for alchemy) and maybe an option to not have the place full of items to loot (like the chest near the smithing area - to much stuff for no effort IMO) otherwise I really like this mod

So some constructive criticism or suggestions The mapping around the farm seems to work well with a follower. I had one with me and she followed my character nicely around the farm. She even followed me inside. But for some reason she would not follow me out of the house. I had to use the command "moveto player" to get my follower to come back outside. She must have really liked the place heh. Not sure if that is simply a follower issue or something else. it might have to do with the front porch because when I placed her outside with me she ran in place against the porch railing.. very minor issue mind you.

Suggestions if your open to them. The house is small and I like this. I understand this. But where is the hearth? I'd remove the alchemy station and put in a hearth instead. A large one like the ruined home had. I know because of the shape of the old house would it be possible to use that one? It had its own stone chimney. I see this house has a chimney but its off to the side and unless I missed it, no interior hearth.

Also its a farm. I think it should have a small structure outside with a forge, grinding wheel and improvement table. Maybe no smelter or anything like that. But just something. Maybe even an anvil style smithing station with a grinding wheel and improvement table.

Again, just suggestions. I endorse this mod. Its great.

Ahh.. very odd, I have no clue what to do or whats wrong with the follower..
      Very odd indeed!
It makes total sense about what youre saying about the fireplace, I couldnt actually find an interior to match the exterior.. I spent a good while searching with little luck, the exterior home is a Riften Farm House, I ended up borrowing the interior of Riften Stables, which has no fireplace... hey, maybe its a fake chimney!

I think a forge is a good idea, I just wasnt sure if the forge was getting annoying in my mods as I always place forges around, but if its perfered then ill go and pop one in! I really appriciate every comment and endorcement I get! Thank you!

well that's the thing... I can't think of any houses that actually are built that share the same design as the broken down one. What about the farm house in the Rift where the woman and her son live. Heartwood Mill. Shares the same design as the one you used and I am pretty sure inside it has a fire place with a cooking pot. I believe its a 1 bedroom house too.

But like I said I am no modder so, I don't know the first thing about how to even build a home. But if your using existing models. I think Heartwood Mill's house would work.

I think the second house you mentioned wasn't accessable by my follower either even tho it was made by Bethesda.
Very many ruins aren't really good for followers, to many invisible walls for them.
But nice idea and good mod

Thank you very much! Yea, I pretty much placed the home over where the ruin was, so with these 'invisible walls' - im not sure how to fix that at all.. sorry!

well if you do give the house I mentioned some thought and see if that would work, let me know. I really like this repair but the lack of a hearth is really all that keeps it from being perfect for me. Sure I mentioned the blacksmith stuff but its not like the now abandoned fort nearby doesn't have one I can use.

      Oh sweet I certainly will!

      *edit*

installed version 1.2 and its really great! hearth inside to match the outside. And the smithing table. perfect. I plan to roll this into another one of my RP play throughs now as well.

      Thanks for the changes.

Very wonderful idea! I have always been wondering why someone hasn't turned this dump into a player home yet! Haha, I was about to do it myself, then I saw this!

Friendly suggestion, you should try to make it so that you have to "restore" the house to its former glory. You know how its all wrecked and broken down? You should make it so the player has to rebuild it, I think that would be pretty neat!

    Nice work, keep it up!

But i wouldn't mind working with someone to achieve that!

      Thanks!

looks great BUT before I download and use a few questions/comments. it being a farm does it have many plant plots ? I see cattle in pics so how do you get those? I liked the hearth/fireplace idea a lot and add my vote. next are you planning to take it further as there are great possibilities for expansion without mod overlap/overuse of that area. this area could be easily? made into a real working farm westward to the corner and maybe put in a small brook/spring flowing west then northward to the bridge area. and would be great if we had to "build" it, as in gather and use wood/stone/clay etc. Also north of Whiterun is huge empty area on the other side of the road from the guard tower east to the "Battleborn" farm ok ok I know my wants may not be everyone else's or even anyone else's but is a great empty area and everyone seems to dump "new" mods on top of ones already built. thanks for your work

No, it dosnt have plant plots, recently ive not been able to find them in the creation kit.. so frustrating
With the images, they are already there, tgeres no quests or books you need to buy them from
And yes, I will be a good idea for there to be an actual farm there, but I dont have the modding skills to do that yet.. but I wouldnt mind working with someone to do that using my mod already thank you for the suggestions and comment!

well you have done great for not "knowing" much I can't wait to see what you do when you do know much Ok seriously I have just started with the reading and videos so I know even less but the spot you picked has huge potential and you should go for it. one step at a time is fast enough ok about cattle do they replenish if you kill some off? or are they gone for good? figured I'd ask before the slaughter started thanks for your work

yeh.. i did not want to spoil anything.. its a quest whr u meet a bandit in the corner club and he tells u to go retrieve 3 books from ppl.. the books are a code to a safe that is in the fireplace in the destroyed house.. a simple patch to move the safe would be needed for your home.. i myself really like the idea of a home there but unfortune is the luck as the safe is placed in the outside wolrd space.. i guess you could ask them to move the safe since that would be a lil easier than a patch.. it could be placed in a tree stump outside the home for example

ps sorry for the confusion.. jus wanted to throw that out there for ppl.. i am curious as to using the console to (prid) move that safe manually would be okay cuz ck for someone elses mod that is so large i think is a bad idea for inexperienced modders/gamers.. or jus tcl thru your house at that point of the quest.. as the safe being inside the house mesh should not be game breaking.. ;-)
