Very interesting way of doing animations without EquipItem. What tool did you use to create the animation nodes? I'm going to try to add the nodes in Blender and manually create the animation in NifSkope but I wonder if there is a better way.
nvm- just found a tutorial. cheers

Would it be possible ot make one that's an animated walking cane of some sort? What I mean is, when it's sheathed it's effectivley a  cane or walking staff, but it unsheathes in to the blade proper.

Love it! I was looking for it for long time.
But can you make dagger version too? I mean not to change model, but force game to think that this is the dagger. It's will be cool to use it with Equiping Overhaul with other sword. I was trying to do it with myself (and for myself) but CK didnt help me(

Nice. This goes really well with my straw hat "Ninja Scroll" type character. Original too. Good work. Will endorse.

Say hypno88, I would post this question in the relevant thread but it seems dead there (due to no updates, not popularity) Quiet a few people were looking forward to it! I know its a cheek. But do you have any plans to release your Gravedigging mod? I loved buried treasures and was so looking forward to the Gravedigging part! If its unfinished id still play it!!

Thanks for you time and sorry to hassle you. And good work again on the Katana.

Funny you should mention Buried Treasures. The other day somebody dug up* the old thread over at the Bethesda Forums and asked the same question; I'll copy+paste my answer:

Ummm....good point. The reason why I stopped work on this mod was because my esp somehow got corrupted, losing all my progress. The core mechanics are fine as they were inside the separate esm. I was half way through converting the vanilla graves to my digging mechanics, then suddenly I was back to square one. That just pissed me off and I couldn't bring myself to start over at the time.

But now's a different story. Maybe after I'm done with the wolf I'll get back to this. Don't hold your breath for now though

There's good news; a member of the forums still had an old copy of my esp i sent to him. Its not as far as i got, but at least i won't have to start over from the beginning. But like I said, I'm currently working on a re-write of my Wolf Follower mod. Once I'm done with that I'll probably get back to Buried Treasures

      *Pun most definitely intended! :p

That's fantastic news. Your mods are very original and that takes talent. Am really glad you may come back to this. I realise it's only a maybe, but that's better than nothing.

I thought this mod was dead and buried............. :p

Thanks for this; I love seeing more animated weapons.

If I could give my two cents though, I feel like this might look great as a tanto. I understand that it's telescoping, but a shorter blade - one that looks like it would fit the length of the hilt - would work well with this concept. Also, a faster animation.

But that's just to my tastes. Regardless, good job.

One idea i have in the back of my head is to make it so that if you are sneaking when you draw the weapon, then it only telescopes to something tanto-sized with the damage and reach changing accordingly. But that will have to be at a later date. Got a few other projects i'm working on.

I like the idea, Endorsement before trying it
I'll be back when I will actually test it.

A specific killmove for this weapon could be nice, like by behind your character put the sword against the head of an enemy (telescopic in) and "SHLAF"... telescopic out but right through the brain
Shame that's not an easy thing to do!

Thank you, endorsements are appreciated Looking forward to hearing your feedback!

It would be amazing if I could make new kill moves for it. Now that paired animations have been figured out it would be very much possible. I just severely lack the expertise to attempt such a feat

I'm amazed that you hit on the same idea as another modder. He made his animated dual katana weapons a summon so tempering is out of the question but he made some quite interesting animation to it.

Sent you a PM for youtube reference.

That is indeed a very interesting piece of work. I commend the author on the animations, they are very well made. But it is a bit to anime-y for my tastes.

With this mod I tried to keep it simple and elegant, to keep the spirit of a Jedi Lightsaber type weapon while fitting the medieval setting. It's for a warrior-monk/samurai character I wanted to start playing soon
