Hi guys. I'm back from a few days of vacation and I'm back working on this mod. Right now I finished editing the cave under the fort and fixing stuff. I received some comments and suggestion from all of you,but I cannot (of course)please all of you. Things like bathtubes, pools, clean exterior, trophy bases in the cave are not going to be added. Why? because I don't want them to be there. (feel free too pen the ck and alter the mod yourself) What we have is a fort (not a luxury hotel) sitting on a mountain side and a natural cave (it's supposed to be empty and I don't want creepy stuffed creatures staring at me while I'm feeding my little fishes).Bathubes and pools are not found in Skyrim, and I'm not going to place them in a Fort (a fortificated place to keep what is inside or behind safe, not to have a sauna). TO DO: -Replacing the barrels in the cave with fish barrels?why not,It just makes sense. -The key?I will write better directions in the jarl's message to make it more simple to find. -Fertile soils in the cave?Of course, but i won't place any limitation on what you can plant in there (I simply don't know how to alter the list of plantable ingredients).
And to answer those questions "why would I move myself and my family in a fort?" I can only answer...ROLEPLAY.I gave you the option to move the family in not because I think that It is a smart Idea, but because someone, somewere might want to do it.
And from a game mechanics perspective, the house is just fine for the family. The kids have all their markers on the main floor and they behave fine. The followers are intended to live in the basement and there is enough for them in there.they move, they interact...they are fine. I had to keep the interior cramped to make it fit the exterior.the fort looks the same from the inside and the outside (wich is mostly not true for the vanilla game). The aim of this mod is to provide the player with a lore frendly place to call home far from the towns(annoying folks, low framerates etc..)using only vanilla and dlc assets, focusing on the use of hearthfire additions.More important, this mod only ADDS stuff and does not ALTER anything from the base game (except for one exterior cell). As for the "FORT DEFENSE"stuff...that's really not what i'm going for, sorry.I might add some respawning bandits on annoying guys near the fort...but nothing more.I wanted to make a simple, plain house mod and I have not changed my mind. See you on the next update!
For the record, there is no need to add bandits. The fort is in an area that's often hit by dragons, so that takes care of itself. Had a dragon land right out of the gate thrice so far.
Ok, stupid question there (which will probably end up unanswered anyway, but still), but where's the key to the front door ? I have no idea where it could be and I need it to get to the bandit leader and finish the first quest.
I have this bug where the carriage driver has a black face. At first I thought it was my game but I'm pretty sure it's the mod... Is there a patch for this?
Could I get the console command to start the question? I'm currently going through a playthrough that isn't being the dragonborn, and I want this fort my character. I don't mind doing the quest to claim the fort, I just don't want to go through all those questions to get to that point.
The first quest is aaDugFortQuest01 (Compelling Matters). Stage 0 starts the quest. The second quest (to get they key) is aaDugFortQuest02 (A Job Well Done). Stage 0 starts the quest.
That personal carriage - is it conflicting with other carriage mods? Coz there is often mentioned that they do conflict with mods who mod the carriage system.
Um. How many mannequins are we talking about? Because my PC is a toaster and those things are infamous memory hogs. >_> I'm hesitant to download most mods for that reason - some go so overboard with mannequins they'd fry my poor PC...

Would not it have been better to make the Fort to live in it and that's it?
I just cleared the bandits outside and when I try to go inside the fort my game crashes.
Edit: Only the front door, the door in the tower works
