I am getting really tired of all the little children who have no clue what "meme" means... Dawkins would probably be sad, but still laughing (and not 'with you'), to see what people have done with his concept.
Not where I learned it from, since I actually read his book, but still a good way of putting it... Educate yourselves: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme Meme is the human 'behavior' or 'idea' analogue to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate and respond to selective pressures. The idea is that one could view many cultural entities as replicators (in the context of human evolution), and pointed to melodies, fashions and learned skills as examples.
I'm just saying that to call these "memes" is like only using the term 'science' in regard to astronomy, or only using the term 'food' in regard to carrots. Meaning that it is not entirely an incorrect use, it is just a bastardization and "dumbing down" of this broad and complex concept.
He's not mad, he just likes trying to validate his higher opinion of himself with wannabe "intellectual ranting." It's really kind of adorable, I love the internet.
That's really cute, but completely irrelevant to the uploaded textures. I'm honestly surprised that what is basically a light attack on the name of a file (not to mention myself) got not only posted but also praised by someone else here.
