as been often noted, this mod merely breaks the game if you use it together with skyre and patches integrating other mods to skyre game... till author fixes mod to be update instead of replacement I'd strongly advice to avoid this even though changes it makes are very much wanted for elementalist mage type of builds that tap in all 3 elements instead of being master of single and plays with skyre to gain all other balances and tweaks it does...

I really REALLY want this mod but it should be as a patch, not a replacement. I would certainly use it then because it is something I've been thinking of changing too! It's a very good idea in my opinion.

You're only screwed if you went with a pure fire/frost/shock based Destruction Mage (level 150), with negligible skill levels in all other skills (eg, under level 30). It just feels silly that your only method of attack is fire/frost/shock spells. The point of SkyRe is also to increase the variation in combat styles. It allows you to go fire mage and still keep sword and board and spellsword styles up to date. Or a Heavy Weapon for backup. Maybe Dwarven Automatrons. How about Necromancy. Making NPC's commit suicide with Illusion. Explosions and enchanted arrows from Alchemy and Enchanting. I'm also pretty sure Staves are unaffected by the Contract perk.

Also, the base game pretty much discourages that much specialization, especially in the early game (<= level 30), where you kind of need multiple combat styles to survive Expert/Master/Legendary difficulties. I remember trying pure fire mage ... didn't work so well. Forced to go into spellsword, but once I had perks into fire perks, I could drop the sword. However, I was at least level 70 in Light Weaponry by then and 50+ in Block and Light Armor. It gave me backup in case I "actually" ran into a fire immune enemy.

what your talking about is synergy and why you are sorta forced into other fighting styles with SkyRe there is no synergy if you want to really enjoy Hybrid game play type your talking about you need SPERG and a different combat overhaul then SkyRE

No, I'm not talking about synergy. I'm also perfectly happy with SkyRe as my only "combat overhaul" mod. My latest character is a fire warrior, a being that builds upon fire in all forms. It also prevents any issue with being a "pure fire mage" as I do play quite often that way with duel casting fire projectile spells.

I'm just saying, if you voluntarily specialize yourself that far into a Destruction form, and get cold feet, maybe you shouldn't have done that. Maybe super powerful fire mage isn't the best reward. I think it'd be fine if you could choose a "fourth" branch that allows you to keep the use of all three types, but doesn't put your power anywhere near the level of a pure specialized mage for each of the three magics.

What I wanted to say was that downloading this mod is way too risky for my game. The unofficial skyrim redone patch update also uses that exact file name, so even people who would download this mod would hesitate. I'm not a modder, but I highly recommend renaming the esp and making it load after the main esp file so everything is compatible so people can still have bug fixes.
