It won't work without re-exporting from 3DS Max, as I didn't know at the time that converting to strips was a bad idea. It will simply crash SSE in this state.
One of my users requested a port of this skin to SSE, so I went ahead and did so. You can find it as an optional download on my Bloodskal Weapons Enhanced mod here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9715/?
I added a link back to this page in the file description, as billyro requested.
Anyone know how to convert the mesh for Special Edition use? It's not usable out of the box (it shows up as invisible) but at the same time normal conversion methods I tried do nothing. :V
The problem is that this mesh was converted to NiTriStrips (at the time, I didn't know this was a bad thing) which is incompatible with Skyrim SE. I don't think it's fixable within Nifskope and would require re-exporting from 3DS Max, as well as some new normals (because of NiTriStrips, the normal didn't actually work, which means it probably looks like crap).
Basically, a lot of effort required for a mod that I consider outdated anyway.
i just dled like 3/4 of your content xD .. gonna play with tomorrow will provide feedback ! i absolutely love the darker versions of miraak, cultist and boiled chitin they look much more serious-like.
There are some malformations in the main broad blade mesh... None of the NiTris have a full tangent space array set, there are NiTriStrips in there for the bloodstain parts, and the visible sword NiTriShape has NiTriStripsData blocks in NiTriShapes.

I have to admit you did a fantastic job, the only thing i think you did wrong was to remove the ricasso of the blade
PS:"A Ricasso is an unsharpened length of blade just above the guard" (the leathery bit XD)

I haven't looked at the thin blade.
Regardless excellent work!
